SAINT BONIFACIUS, MINN-- For College Camp #2 on our early summer camp circuit, we head to the UMAC Conference, as we made the trip to little Saint Bonifacius, Minnesota for year two of the Anthony Franz Elite Camp at Crown College. I have found in the last two years at Crown, that this Division III camp always contributes to what we would consider the sleepers with the senior classes to be and brought out promising underclassmen that have some early scholarship level grades in my eyes, which shows that Coach Franz and his staff have the Polars on the up. Starting off, we evaluate our scouting notes of standouts in Part I!

Carter was one of my favorite prospects on either side of the ball at Crown, as the versatility he brings to both sides of the ball is was surely on point. His first step he showed off popped out right away in testing, and showed off the consistency I love seeing in a camp setting in every rep he had. He also showed off great hands as a pass-catcher even in high-traffic areas where even against bigger competition Carter constantly found a way during 1v1s. to win plenty of reps. Carter's best fit looks to be in the backfield as a RB at the next-level, as he certainly showed off an under the radar sleeper out of the Outstate.

Hailing from near my neck of the woods and another standout from the Crown Elite Camp was Monticello 2025 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1291415' first='Eddie' last='Kennedy']. The coachability of Eddie was what I gauged from his first look at camp, as he was all-in with his attention to detail with the Crown coaching staff and showed off some Grade-A character. I was highly impressed with Eddie's athletic movement with his change of direction, as I thought he was one of the most agile linebacker in attendance and would get my vote for Linebacker MVP. Slightly undersized, but Eddie is one I would go to bat for if I were recruiting Minnesota for scholarship talent.

From my eyes, one of the biggest camp stockrisers from the Crown College Elite Camp was 2025 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='979572' first='Ty' last='Jensen'] of Chanhassen. Recorded a 4.67 40-yard dash and came in nearly a perfect match with his pre-camp measurables with his 6'0 180 pound frame. Going from testing to 1v1s, Ty showed off excellent hands and showed off even smoother with his change of direction with routes on air. Ty also plays with a sound football IQ that certainly showed off instincts all camp long as one that I believe is somehow a sleeper that should certainly rise this summer.

Another Monticello Magic linebacker that had me intrigued in their 2026 class at the Crown College Elite Camp, was 5'11 205 pound Garrett Bauer. Garett impressed me with how balanced his footwork were thru the bulk of the drills I got to watch and that showed off even more fluid as we got into 1v1s as Garrett showed off plenty of consistency. He showed off a quick trigger off the snap and there is certainly some upside brewing with it further, and does well as a middle linebacker showing off how clear that balance he has brewing coming downhill. I also felt since viewing his sophomore tape, Garret has grown further with his instincts of hitting the best pursuit angle. Sound multi-sport athlete that I believe he has a great next-level ceiling to build out in the coming year.

My vote for 2026 MVP goes out to Anoka's [player_tooltip player_id='1248628' first='Devon' last='Luckas'] at the Crown College Elite Camp. Devon's explosion caught my eyes early at the triple jump in which he was one of the top campers in that category. It is hard to even figure out what his best testing category was but I will rattle them off: 4.57 40-yard dash, 6.51 L-Drill, and 9'3 in the broad jump as his top numbers all at 6'2 190 pounds which makes those numbers ideal fits at the Division I level. It wasn't just his testing either Devon showed off a very athletic first step in drills and ideal pad-level when he was downhill and good-ball tracking ability. He certainly has some development with his technique, but no doubt the athletic measurables are there with his upside.
