[player_tooltip player_id='941798' first='Drew' last='Huebner'] 6'4" 210 lbs Morris

A three-sport athlete hailing from small-town Morris Minnesota, Huebner has been making big-time plays on his tape. During his junior year, he put up over 1,300 total passing yards with 20 total touchdowns. He's one of the highest-level outstate QBs in his class, complete with a big arm and the confidence to fire rockets into tight windows. Huebner consistently puts a nice zip on the ball and has a variety of high-level back-shoulder fades on his tape. He leads his wideouts well on mid-level and deep passes but also gets rid of the ball quickly when needed. Huebner is a high-upside outstate prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='945349' first='Noah' last='Nelson'] 6'5" 220 lbs Hawley

Another small-town giant of a prospect, Nelson has been fairly active on the recruiting trail, which includes snagging an offer from the Univeristy of Mary. Highlighted by his pronounced frame and big arm, Nelson also has shown the ability to consistently hit mid-level targets on the run. When he's at his best slinging the rock from inside of the pocket, Nelson will drop dimes, reliably floating the ball perfectly over the defender's head. Nelson has tremendous upside as a passer and I won't be surprised when he has a big senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='641144' first='Malik' last='Johnson'] 6'2" 220 lbs Bloomington Kennedy

A well-built QB hailing from the metro, Johnson finished his junior year with over 870 yards and 9 TDs. He puts this frame to use early in his tape, when he scrambles outside of the pocket, Johnson can run through defenders. When he's passing, he consistently puts a nice touch on the ball and can hit tight windows routinely. Perhaps his greatest strength however is his ability to throw off balance or on the run. He doesn't need to plant his feet or turn his hips to deliver an accurate ball to a receiver. He has an uncanny ability to turn a broken play around and could easily have a breakout senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='234773' first='Jonah' last='Ask'] 5'11" 155 lbs Farmington

Ask is one of the most underrated 6A QBs entering the 2024 season. Last year he put up just shy of 1400 passing yards with 12 passing TDs on a 63% completion percentage. Ask also proved himself plenty capable on the ground as well, he amassed just shy of 500 rushing yards with 4 rushing touchdowns. While he may not possess the frame that some of his counterparts do, Ask is a playmaker capable of extending plays in any way. The lefty's speed when he carries the ball is exceptional and he's often seen outpacing defenders with his legs. Ask 100% needs more hype heading through this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='419655' first='Owen' last='Chervestad'] 6'1" 170 lbs Red Lake County

Continuing the coverage of small-town outstate QBs, we have Chervestad from Red Lake Minnesota. While he does play in a run-heavy system, he still put up over 500 passing yards with 9 TDs, and an additional 400+ yards on the ground with 10 more TDs. As an athlete, Chervestad is very capable of playing either QB or another skill position. As a quarterback, however, Chervestad has a very keen sense of when the pocket is breaking down. He senses pressure well and manages to get rid of the ball without forcing a bad pass. More eyes need to be on Chervestad in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1104771' first='Alden' last='Dobberstein'] 6'1" 160 lbs New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva

I've covered Dobberstein previously, but I believe he remains underrated and deserves another look. During his junior year, he put up over 850 passing yards with 11 TDs, with an additional 460 rushing yards and three more TDs on the ground. His tape is incredibly impressive, multiple times Dobberstein can be seen launching the ball off one foot and dotting up the receiver perfectly. When he needs to scramble, he wastes no time getting north and south and manages to find cutback lanes as if he were an RB. He has an elegant throwing motion and should garner more attention during his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='246017' first='Maxwell' last='Erb'] 6' 180 lbs Bloomington Jefferson

Erb is in a unique spot as a prospect. He sat behind a talented QB during his junior year but recently snagged a D2 offer from recent NSIC addition Jamestown. His work on the camp circuit this offseason has been admirable. A multitude of coaches and scouts have raved about his performances as of late, and by all accounts, he is looking ripe for a massive breakout senior year.
