16 notes, eye-catchers from LSU's mid-June elite camp

Nearly 600 athletes from not only around the state, but around the country visited LSU late last week for the Tigers' mid-June elite camp.   Many Louisiana natives were among the top performers, eye-catchers and all-around notes coming out of the day, including one major new in-state offer going out early in the event.     [player_tooltip player_id='710272' first='Jhase' last='Thomas'] — 6-2, 170 DB/ATH — Destrehan (2025)   Most of the prospects are listed alphabetically, but the Wildcats' safety was the in-state story of the event as he picked up an LSU offer following a pair of 4.4-second 40-yard runs and carried his strong performance right into drills, one-on-ones and seven-on-seven sessions.   [player_tooltip player_id='740982' first='Chris' last='Addison'] — 6-2, 210 ATH — Franklin Parish (2026)   The Patriots' standout first hit the Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings as a freshman pass-catcher before filling out and putting together a strong sophomore highlight reel on defense. He worked at tight end Thursday, making a few catches and appearing firmly on the Tigers' radar at the position that the staff has done well recruiting into a strength in recent cycles. [player_tooltip player_id='212340' first='Jabari' last='Mack'] — 6-0, 185 WR — Destrehan (2026)   The Wildcats' rising junior standout, who earned his LSU offer in January, boasted some of the day's top testing results with his 4.34-second 40-yard dash, nearly 40-inch vertical and 10-foot-3 broad jump and then lit up his competitive reps with several catches and other wins. Shepard's track speed and long frame helped put him on the radar as a sophomore, and his slew of highlights from the most recent camp included several vertical routes burning past the coverage as well as at least one nice leaping, adjusting grab over a defensive back. The 1,000-yard rusher this past fall has been active on the camp circuit thus far this month and appears to be a somewhat under-the-radar prospect to watch moving forward.
