Weekend Recruiting Recap

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The second weekend of May was a busy one across the state of Arkansas. The Natural State had performance camps going on all over the state over the weekend. We are going to highlight several prospects that earned camp invitations as well as scholarship offers over the weekend. Here are several players to watch out for this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='498092' first='Tate' last='Spray']-Offensive Line-Centerpoint-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='498092' first='Tate' last='Spray'] continues to open eyes as we approach the summer months. He plays the tackle spot with impressive effectiveness for Centerpoint. Spray has a good mix of quickness and power that can keep the opposing defensive lineman off-balance. Spray has no trouble keeping opposing pass rushers away from his quarterback. He uses his hands well to drive the opposing defender backwards and away from the ball carrier. Last week, Spray earned a scholarship offer from Tennessee-Martin. He is a player to watch out for this fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='211161' first='Brenton' last='Brasfield']-Defensive Back-Beebe-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Beebe always has talented prospects that can play a number of positions for the Badgers each year. [player_tooltip player_id='211161' first='Brenton' last='Brasfield'] fits that description perfectly. Brasfield has the versatility to play all over the field for the Badgers. He does a great job of reading the play and putting himself in position to make the tackle. Meanwhile, Brasfield plays the ball well in the air and can completely disrupt the opposing offensive pass plays. He has the ability to take a pass in the opposite direction for the Beebe defense. Brasfield had a busy week from a recruiting perspective last week. He earned scholarship offers from Central Arkansas as well as Tennessee-Martin. Brasfiled has the potential to have a big 2024 season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='312121' first='Ajavion' last='Gilmore']-Defensive Back-El Dorado-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One defensive prospect that is blowing up from a recruiting perspective is [player_tooltip player_id='312121' first='Ajavion' last='Gilmore']. Gilmore has impressive versatility in the defensive secondary for El Dorado. He can shift from the safety to the cornerback spots with very little difficulty. Gilmore reads the quarterback well and has the ability to jump routes to pick off the pass. He plays opposing wide receivers physically. Gilmore does a nice job of playing the football while it is in the air. The El Dorado defensive backs has earned scholarship offers from Grambling State and Louisiana-Monroe recently. Norwood had an impressive Prep Redzone Arkansas camp over the weekend. He threw the ball with accuracy all day on Saturday. Norwood hit the deep throws and showcased his arm strength as well. The strong performance over the weekend earned him an invitation to several Ouachita Baptist events over the next few months. He is a player to watch out for this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='221709' first='Isaiah' last='Arrington']-Wide Receiver-Greenwood-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='221709' first='Isaiah' last='Arrington'] is another prospect that showed up the Prep Redzone Arkansas camp on Saturday ready to work. Arrington proved to be the fastest player at the camp over the weekend. Meanwhile, his route running, and speed combination continue to open eyes on the camp circuit. The talented Greenwood receiver earned a scholarship offer from Arkansas Baptist University while at the camp. He is a player to watch out for this season. Arrington had an impressive 2023 season and I look for him to have an even more impressive 2024 season,</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
