While this team was receiving plenty of accolades, the reality was that head coach Tyrone McGriff would go on to finish 1-4 and failed to reach the state playoffs.
To understand the significance of that 6-4 year is to know that it is something that hasn’t happened very often around this program in recent memory. Winning seasons have not been the norm. But that’s where things get interesting.
While just over .500 year wouldn’t be anything to celebrate at most schools, having a winning campaign is a signal that things are starting to move in a positive direction.
With spring under way, the Lions have plenty of optimism, and with some returning prospects, the summer will be very important, but part of the growth process.
Coach McGriff and his staff will count heavily on a rising senior (2025) class. Loaded with talent and leadership, this is the group that can continue the climb toward the state playoffs.
