He completed 59% of his passes in his junior year, amassing 1818 yards and 16 touchdowns. Ward's arm strength is suited for the diverse throws required of a collegiate quarterback. He adeptly layers passes across all three levels with velocity and adjusts his arm angle to bypass defenders, ensuring that the  throws are delivered on time. His ability to push the ball downfield is notable, and his precision and touch on deep passes set him apart from his peers. Ward's pocket footwork and drop-backs are notably advanced for a player in Canada. He can scramble for yardage when necessary but prefers to keep his eyes downfield, showing skill in throwing on the run and on off-platform throws.
