And the Hornets’ boys were led, like many other top schools, by several multisport standouts, particularly athletes with football backgrounds and futures.
Here’s a look at the more than 60 student-athletes we know with varying high school football backgrounds — including several notable Division-I prospects — who scored points for their teams in the meet.
Broderick Davis Broderick Davis 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Scotlandville | 2024 State LA — 6-0, 170 DB — Scotlandville (2024)
The Tennessee track signee, also an athletic defensive back during his high school career, earned Outstanding Player honors as a leader in the Hornets’ championship push. Davis won the long jump (24-08.75) and 110-meter hurdles (13.78), anchored the winning 4×200-meter relay (1:26.06) and finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (21.59)

Another Hornets multisport standout leading in the title efforts, the intriguing wide receiver prospect won the triple jump (48-08.75), ran legs of the winning 4×100-meter (41.05) and 4×200-meter (1:26.06) relay teams and anchored the third-place 4×400-meter relay (3:17.02).

The Tigers’ defensive back lived up to his “Turbo” nickname with his sweeping of the 100-meter (10.35) and 200-meter (21.00) sprints.
Jeremiah Boudreaux — 6-2, 160 DB/WR — Airline (2024)
The top Class 5A performer from north Louisiana, the Vikings’ standout won the 300-meter hurdles (36.76), finished third in the 110-meter hurdles (13.95) and led off the fourth-place 4×400-meter relay (3:18.70).

The Griffins’ big, physical running back flashed his speed repeatedly Saturday with his his second-place 100-meter dash (10.50), third-place 200-meter dash (21.53) and anchoring of the fourth-place 4×100-meter relay (41.86).

The Broncos’ defensive back finished second in the 110-meter hurdles (13.84) and third in the 300-meter hurdles (38.19).

The big defensive lineman was among the leaders on a solid day for the Bucs’ boys and girls with his winning shot put (55-06.50).

A football injury pushed Catalanatto to lean more heavily into track, where he developed into the state’s top performer in the javelin, including a second straight Class 5A outdoor title (205-09.00) in the event.
