The Prep Redzone NE/IA Combine Series was a star-studded showcase featuring some of the best talent in Nebraska and Iowa. Over 120 prospects filled the Iowa West Sports Plex as they looked to sharpen their skills, compete against other elite talent, and gain exposure to the college coaches in attendance. Marty and myself identified several standout prospects who we believe have the potential to play at the next level.
I will be kicking off my player analysis with four 2025 standouts from Sunday. Check out these four playmakers and stay tuned for more event coverage throughout the week.
Camden Walker Camden Walker 6'4" | 190 lbs | WR Grand Island Northwest | 2025 State NE | 2025 | WR | Grand Island Northwest | 6’4″ 190 lbs
After a great Combine Series performance, receiver Camden Walker Camden Walker 6'4" | 190 lbs | WR Grand Island Northwest | 2025 State NE should be able to ride that momentum into what should be a big summer cycle for him. The GI Northwest senior turned in an all-around solid performance from the testing part to the competition session. Camden posted testing numbers of a 4.9 40-yard dash, 4.94 shuttle drill, 8’6.5″ broad jump, and a 7.53 in the L-drill. Camden looked even quicker and shiftier than those numbers suggest as he did a great job going in and out of his breaks and can drop his hips fairly well for being a taller receiver. He uses his size to his advantage, using his height to elevate over defenders for the ball and he can be physical when CBs try to press him at the line. Camden’s lengthy reach also helps give QBs a bigger catch radius to throw to and has reliable hands to hold onto catches made outside of his frame. Having Camden at receiver will make the transition for whoever wins out the GINW QB battle, several times easier. Get this man on campus ASAP!
Cesar Cano Cesar Cano 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Lexington | 2025 NE | 2025 | RB | Lexington | 5’10” 190 lbs
Lexington’s Cesar Cano Cesar Cano 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Lexington | 2025 NE had a bit of a coming out party at the Combine Series as he was chosen by coaches as the RB MVP of the camp. Cesar came out the gates firing with a speedy 4.66 40-yard dash and closed his testing portion out with a 4.72 shuttle drill, 9’1″ broad jump, and 7.59 L-drill, all of which were top 5 marks in his position group. What really impressed about Cesar’s performance was the explosiveness that he exhibited both when going through changes of direction and with his burst to finish out his reps. Cano displayed good footwork when going through RB drills, moving smoothly through his cuts. Another aspect from Cesar’s game that stood out was his willingness to match the opposing defender’s physicality when going through the blocking drill. Created separation in 1v1s. Overall, a solid day for Cesar as he continues to build on a strong beginning to his camp season.
Kaehle Toledo Kaehle Toledo 6'2" | 280 lbs | DL Gretna East | 2025 State NE | 2025 | DL | Gretna East | 6’2″ 280 lbs
The OL/DL group was one of the strongest we’ve seen in recent years at this event. One player who stood out from that group was Gretna East incoming senior, Kaehle Toledo Kaehle Toledo 6'2" | 280 lbs | DL Gretna East | 2025 State NE . Kaehle had some dominant reps in 1v1s where he flashed a versatile skillset that includes power and speed moves. Toledo possesses good burst from his hips which allows him to fire quickly off the ball and beat his opponent to make impactful contact. Once he gets his hands on a blocker, he shows the strength and leg drive to blow blockers off their spot. I noticed Kaehle was very smart and efficient with his hand use, able to violently trash and rip his way through offensive linemen’s attempts at getting hands on him. Good footwork and mobility. On a few occasions, Toledo showed his rushing savvy by setting blockers up to open their hips before flying back across their face to make the play/win the rep. I’m saying this now, with guys like Kaehle in the fold, these Griffins could make some noise in Class B this year.
Ben Madrigal Ben Madrigal DL Elkhorn North | 2025 NE | 2025 | DL | Elkhorn North | 5’11” 310 lbs
Here’s another talented senior DL to watch next season. Elkhorn North’s Ben Madrigal Ben Madrigal DL Elkhorn North | 2025 NE had a solid showing at the Combine Series and really impressed with his physicality at the line of scrimmage. Ben especially caught my attention during 1v1s, where he used his overwhelming power to win his fair share of reps. He possesses a very strong, sturdy base, which he uses to generate a powerful leg drive to drive blockers off of their spots and force his way into opposing backfields. Madrigal does a great job using his natural leverage to his advantage and plays with a consistent pad level. With the loss of a few seniors next season, Ben is primed to be a focal point on the Elkhorn North defensive line.
