These young men were among the top performers during testing, individual drills, and 1-on-1s. None of these prospects have seen major varsity action just yet, but when they do look for them to be serious contributors. I will most certainly be keeping an eye out for these rising sophomores as they continue to develop over the next three seasons.

LB: Mason Stewart Mason Stewart 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB Plainfield North | 2027 IL 5’11” 203, Plainfield North
Stewart tested well running a 4.96 laser 40-yard dash and a 4.21 short shuttle time. He showed the ability to come to balance and make plays during the competition period, he’s sticky and has the speed to run with backs in man coverage and plays with controlled aggression. If this young man continues to grow watch out because the athleticism and natural football instincts are clearly there.
DB: Tavares Harrington Tavares Harrington IL 6’2″ 165, Mount Carmel
A lengthy safety prospect with the footwork, patience, and an off-hand jam to roll up and play man out of the slot. Tavares used his length to swipe away passes in 1 on 1s and his size often engulfed much smaller wideouts. He’s a natural working a pedal, he can weave when wideouts try to stem him inside and knows when to transition out of his pedal to run with targets downfield.
QB: AJ Rayford, 6″ 150, Providence
An athletic quarterback prospect with calm & controlled footwork and steady touch on his deep ball. The ball comes out of Rayford’s hand as a compact spiral with quality velocity, he’s accurate throwing on the move and has easy mechanics as a thrower. He can place the football just over defenders and has a quiet confidence about him. He needs to add a little bulk to his frame, but the talent is there.
RB: Nathan Samuels, 5’10” 170, Mount Carmel
Samuels was another kid who played on the lower levels for the caravan and played well. He’s a north and south back that runs with good forward body lean and has the burst & acceleration to hit a seam and be off to the races. He’s got the wiggle to make defenders miss and the balance to keep his composure through contact. He clocked a 4.44 short shuttle on Saturday as well.
