Anytime you see a player coming from Don Bosco you immediately know they are considered one of the top talents in the state. This idea extends to Joziah Mays Joziah Mays 5’9″ | 185 lbs | LB Don Bosco Prep | 2027 State NJ , an up and coming linebacker from the 2027 class. Joziah is currently ranked as the #13 LB in the NJ 2027 class, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he climbed up the rankings after the combine. A certified run stuffer, Joziah is primed to have a big day a week from now.

Daulton Phalines
Daulton Phalines
A QB with college ready size and arm strength, Daulton Phalines is a player that has the potential to get on everyone’s radar. Daulton can throw a pretty ball deep downfield, and still has a lot of potential behind his throw. His wind up is slightly blunted, indicating that if he can get his whole body behind the throw he can launch the ball even further. The positive of those mechanics is Daulton is very quick in his release, especially when hitting receivers on crossing routes across the middle. I am excited to see what kind of throws Daulton makes at the combine.
Another young talent that’s ready to impress at the combine, Jon’te Truesdale has the size and strength to become a feared defender within the state. Standing at 6’2″, Jon’te’s height and dimensions gives him a legitimate chance in becoming a top defensive lineman that can overpower his opponents. Playing for a talented Cherokee squad, Jon’te is sure to help continue their winning ways into 2024.

The second player heading to the combine from Boonton, Metin Ahmedi Metin Ahmedi 5’8″ | 165 lbs | WR Boonton | 2025 NJ is on the receiving end of Boonton’s aerial attack. While the team runs the majority of the time, Metin made the most of every opportunity, as half of his receptions went for long touchdowns. With the play action Boonton runs, Metin always has a step on the defender as they are caught peeking into the backfield. Metin can get them to bite on the run and proceed to blaze on by. He may be a shorter receiver, but he is an absolute playmaker. I’m looking forward to seeing Metin’s speed and agility on display at the combine.

Elijah Contaldi Elijah Contaldi 5’9″ | 170 lbs | LB St. Joseph (Metuchen) | 2027 State NJ is a rising athlete coming out of St. Joseph. A running back in a run dominant offense, Elijah can turn the corner quickly and accelerate through the hole. Defensively, Elijah’s quick reflexes allows him to pounce on the runner as soon as they get the exchange. Elijah has a smaller frame at the moment, but a few years of offseason training should turn him into an all around threat on offense and defense.
