He's instinctive in coverage and uses his length to play the ball in the air. He's also dependable against the run, shedding blocks and doing his best to run down the ball carrier in the backfield. He was a reliable defender as a junior last year for a talented North Cobb team, and he's bound for an outstanding senior season this fall. The 6-foot-3 180-pounder earned an offer from Western Kentucky this week and more could be on his way, along with a new ranking in the next 2025 Prep Redzone update. At 6-foot-0 200-pounds, Lafayette runs hard and shows plenty of lower-body strength, but also brings above-average speed. He's a strong natural athlete with good vision with the ball. He shows quick feet, good burst, and the ability to outrun defenders when he gets to the second level. He fights hard for yards, shows good balance down the sideline, and has easy D1 potential. He's also seen two Ivy League offers come his way from Brown and Dartmouth. He plays with good leverage and has enough length to grab onto the ball-carrier and sling them to the ground. At 6-foot-4 260-pounds, he still has the ability to add more muscle and mass over the next two years. His D1 potential is easy to see, and he's earned new offers this week from Samford, Temple, and Buffalo. He's one of the top returning defensive linemen in the area and is coming off a strong 2023 season where he gave max-effort every play and made a real difference on the defensive line. His stock is on the rise, and it doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
