Scout’s Notes: Quarterbacks
Two Hermits from St. Augustine Prep start us off today. Mindful of being respectful to your elders we start with 2026 graduate Ryan Stoehr Ryan Stoehr 5'10" | 165 lbs | QB Saint Augustine Prep | 2026 NJ . Stoehr threw each strike with purpose and wiz behind it. With a quick release his ball gets out NOW and arrives fast as it cuts through any wind resistance with ease. Part of what makes his ball more akin to a projectile is that it maintains a tight spiral. This spiral also makes Stoehr’s ball highly catchable for his targets….. 2027 graduate Drew Dorsey Drew Dorsey 5'10" | 140 lbs | QB St. Augustine Prep | 2027 NJ showed upside to his game as well. Dorsey threw a ball with much command, particularly when targeting receivers on the out route. He snapped his release and threw the ball on a rope before his target broke from his route to receive the ball.
Coming all the way down from Bergen County, North Bergen to be exact, was Jayden Fernandez Jayden Fernandez 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB North Bergen | 2025 NJ . Fernandez was at his best when he was asked to throw the ball over the middle. When putting the ball on crossing and in-breaking routes, Fernandez threw the ball with outstanding command. His ball led receivers nicely, was well within their catch radius, consistently in safe places, and got out and got there very quickly….. Coming not from far was Cinnaminson’s Connor Coslove Connor Coslove 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Cinnaminson | 2025 NJ . One play that Coslove hit which stood out to me was when he connected with his target on an out. He was able to get the ball out just before his receiver entered his break. The ball had a tight spiral and was ahead of his target, out of reach for the defender playing trail technique, rending his attempts to play the ball from underneath fruitless. His receiver then planted his inside foot and got vertical up the sideline with the ball in his hands.
