Can Delray American Heritage Turn Things Around?

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When football coach <strong>Jonathan King</strong> returned to American Heritage-Delray earlier this year, there was a feeling that this program would start to find its way back to where it once was.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What King brought to the Stallions was a tremendous amount of coaching expertise and a unique proven track record for motivating players both on the field and in the classroom.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He previously served as wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator for nine years. He was on staff during the Stallions' three state championships -- in 2007, 2009, and 2011 -- a run that also included two additional trips to the state finals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the past nine years, this program not only didn't make a run at state, but they hadn't had a winning season since 2015. In that time there had been five different head coaches.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After a 3-1 start last season, the program went on a six-game losing streak, ending the year 3-7.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If this team is to turn a corner, it will certainly be on the shoulders of a 2025 (rising seniors) class that has some talent as well as
