The 2025 class is deep in talented wide receivers, with a handful getting most of the attention as we come down the homestretch to the 2024 season. That leaves very little coverage for the rest, with many flying under the radar or not getting any attention at all.

Listed below are the Weekend Five who are poised and ready to blast off this fall:

[player_tooltip player_id='1115438' first='Tim' last='Chartier'], 6'2, 185, WR, Gardner Edgerton. He is coming off a solid start last year as versatile playmaker for Blue Valley North. Since then he has transferred to Gardner Edgerton where he will play his senior season. He is a long, rangy wideout with an excellent catch radius and superb hand-eye coordination who has been perfecting his skills in 7v7 competition with @STFFAKC this spring. He is a good all-around receiver who makes things happen after the catch. He has excellent body control going up to the apex point for the ball and with his size and athleticism is a force in the redzone. He has good speed and agility, with standout acceleration and elusiveness in the open field. He is also a dangerous return man who is a threat to take it to the house on any kick. This kid is getting ready to shine this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1228445' first='Kasey' last='Giesenhagen'], 6'3, 190, WR, Colby. He is coming off an excellent start to his high school career, as he turned 18 receptions into 470 receiving yards for an eye-popping 26.1 yards per catch. He also added six touchdowns through the air. He is split wide in the Colby air attack to force mismatches in the secondary. He has the size and reach to dominate smaller defensive backs and is almost unstoppable in the end zone. He runs precise routes and is fearless going over the middle and making the difficult, contested catch. He has good speed and moves well laterally with a good burst when generating separation. He is an excellent blocker on the perimeter and is versatile enough to play as a ballhawk safety on defense and is a special teams warrior flying to the football. Get out and see a star in the making in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1228444' first='Daylen' last='Bledsoe'], 6'0, 170, WR, Derby. He is coming off a good start to his high school career, hauling in 18 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown a year ago. He is a fluid, athletic receiver who knows how to get open and is very effective finding the soft spot in zones or creating separation in man coverage. He is not afraid going over the middle and will consistently make the contested catch in traffic. He is an excellent possession receiver who runs precise routes, but as soon as the defensive back tries to cheat in on coverage he uses his speed and acceleration to burn up the seams and sidelines on the deep ball. When he is not catching the football he is a standout blocker on the perimeter where he can operate as a stalk blocker or fly in and lower the boom on defenders in space. He will be a key part of a very promising Derby passing attack. Get out and see a rising star make things happen this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='873161' first='Caden' last='Huffman'], 5'11, 185, WR, Blue Valley SW. He is coming off a solid start to his high school career when he piled up just under 1,000 total yards on 39 receptions and added four touchdowns last fall. He has been busy in the off season taking his game to the next level with @EMP1RE7v7. He turned heads recently, when he won the Fastest Man award in the KC Varsity combine when he clocked a laser 4.5 forty-yard dash. He is a versatile playmaker who can play running back or receiver. Last year he mostly worked out of the slot, where he used his speed, agility and acceleration to create havoc in the secondary. He has no qualms working over the middle and will consistently make the difficult grab. He is also a major threat as a return man, using his blazing speed and agility to carve up the field and make things happen. Get out and see a star in the making this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1223954' first='Ty' last='Marbery'], 6'4, 205, WR, Ft. Scott. He is coming off a solid start to his high school career but has been flying under the radar in southeast Kansas. He is an athletic receiver with prototype size and speed and with a huge catch radius. He is long and has good body control going up for the contested catch or going up for the football in the redzone. He has Velcro hands with excellent body control and flexibility in tracking the ball. He splits out wide in the Ft Scott offensive attack which creates mismatches that he readily optimizes. He is deceptively fast and has good burst in creating separation. He is also a strong runner after the catch and it usually takes more than one defender to bring him down. He checks all the boxes as a stud wide receiver who is getting ready to star this fall and then take his game to the collegiate level soon after.

In conclusion, get out and see these rising stars while you still can. And, as always, if you know of anyone flying under the radar feel free to reach out to me via DM on X.
