<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Next up in our evaluations of the class of 2025 are the defensive backs.&nbsp; We will take you around the state looking at all the corner backs, safeties, and slot corners across the state in the rising senior class!&nbsp; Here is <strong>2025 Film Evals: West Suburbs Defensive Backs Pt 2</strong>!<br><br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='349399' first='Luke' last='Zook'] (Yorkville – 6'1” 185)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zook is a safety that knocks the ball loose and is stout in the run game.&nbsp; Good tackler in space and very physical in run support.&nbsp; Also plays running back on the other side of the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='299453' first='Caylo' last='Reitman'] (St. Charles North – 5'11” 155)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This eval is based on his sophomore tape.&nbsp; Corner that can play both press and off coverage.&nbsp; Makes plays on the ball with good breaks.&nbsp; Can recover if he makes a mistake and is a solid punt returner as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='358308' first='Carter' last='York'] (Sycamore – 6'0” 185)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>York is a WR and safety.&nbsp; As a wideout he is best at the deep ball scoring TDs on go routes.&nbsp; On the defensive side he has good reaction to the ball and makes plays coming over covering ground.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>Kamyrn Miskdeen (Willowbrook - 5'8” 135)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Miskdeen is a smaller corner at 5'8" that plays on the edge.&nbsp; Runs well with wideouts and is a decent tackler.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='331451' first='Jack' last='Ferguson'] (Yorkville – 5'9” 145)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ferguson is an undersized safety that jumps routes and reacts well.&nbsp; Reads the QB's eyes great breaking on the ball quickly.&nbsp; Takes good angles to the ball in the run game and wraps up low.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='299427' first='Nick' last='Zbylut'] (Naperville Central – 6'0” 175)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zybylut is a 6'0" corner with good size and strength.&nbsp; Brings physicality to the table forcing fumbles on tackles and is solid in coverage down field.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>Maxwell Bell (Montini – 5'11” 170)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Corner that reacts well to the ball in the air.&nbsp; Isn't afraid and has good instincts.&nbsp; Gets off blocks in run game and plays with a ton of effort.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1292750' first='Kevon' last='Brooks Jr'] (South Elgin – 5'11” 150)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brooks is an instinctual DB that projects probably best at free safety with some slot corner skills.&nbsp; Makes plays on the ball in the air and has good range.&nbsp; Turn and run with fluid hips.&nbsp; Also will be a core special teams player at the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>Yusef Saleh (Argo – 6'0” 175)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Saleh has nice size at 6'0" with good length.&nbsp; Probably best as a free safety that is solid in coverage and can come down and tackle.&nbsp; Core special teams guy.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='868571' first='Brenton' last='Dortch'] (OPRF – 6'0” 170)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dortch is a 6'0" strong safety that comes up and makes plays in the run game.&nbsp; Solid tackler in space that is effective in the run game along with chasing after scrambling QBs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='840989' first='Jake' last='Boissiere'] (Oswego East – 6'0” 180)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Strong safety at 6'0" that might be best at OLB long term.&nbsp; His strength is playing with physicality as a tackler in the run game coming down in the box.&nbsp; Also is a good blitzer coming off the edge.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
