The playmaking 6-foot-1 190-pounder got off to somewhat of a slow start to the 2023 season, but as it went along, he showed the ability to take over games as a weapon on the outside. He's a vertical threat with good speed, but his strong hands are why he's so tough to stop. As a junior last fall, this impressive pass-catcher hauled in 40 passes for 734 yards and 9 touchdowns. He was a threat to score anytime the ball came his way, and he scored plenty last year. His best game came against Burke County where he caught nine big passes for 172 yards and a score. He's playing around several major wideouts, but it's clear Maxwell is one of the best. Pettigrew has size, ball-skills, and natural athleticism that has translated well to the gridiron. When the Panther offense needed a big play, Pettigrew was there to make it. He was a reliable option all year long for the Perry passing attack as he caught 44 passes for 702 yards and six touchdowns. He brings an impressive vertical leap to the table and can make a play on the ball over smaller defensive backs down the field. He can test a defense vertically and shows soft, dependable hands when hauling in a pass in tight coverage. He shows a lot of D1-caliber tools and showed last year as a junior that he's capable of playing somewhere at the next level. He may not be the biggest or fastest, but he's a natural pass-catcher who can create separation and out-run defenders down the field. He can line up in the slot or on the outside, while bringing above-average athleticism at 6-foot-0 195-pounds. He's big enough and has good enough hands to play at the next level, and he proved that last year. Look for this natural receiver who make an immediate impact for Jackson County next year as a senior. As a junior last fall, Daniels caught 29 passes for 545 yards and five touchdowns.
