After attending our first-ever PRZ Next Showcase in Minnesota, I'm pleased to say that the athletes that my colleagues and I saw today were an encouraging sign of the future of Minnesota Prep Football. These incoming freshmen had great performances during the combine portion of the showcase and fought hard during big guy 1-on-1s toward the end. The future is bright for these Midwest trench dogs!

Leo Oss 5'10" 190 lbs Olson Middle 2028

Oss won the DL camp MVP award, and he's someone who consistently improved throughout the day. He was a tenacious hand fighter who had quick feet and showed great bend around the edge. Oss showed a solid explosion off of the line of scrimmage as well. Oss was also extremely coachable throughout the entire camp.

Micah Arueya 5'6" 175 lbs Minneapolis Roosevelt 2028

Arueya is a thick kid who is able to generate a tremendous amount of power through his legs. He's able to get an incredible jump off of the line of scrimmage when rushing the quarterback. He's not afraid to hand fight or bend around the edge and has shown a variety of moves when pass-rushing.

Ruben Lomeli 5'8" 250 lbs Community of Peace Academy 2028

Lomeli was easily among the most coachable kids I've ever met. His footwork was consistent and he was a sponge absorbing knowledge whenever he could. When engaged one-on-one, he was able to stay low in a powerful stance. His feet were surprisingly quick in pass-pro and he provided a tough anchor on the interior offensive line. There isn't any quit in him either, he works hard.

[player_tooltip player_id='232204' first='Eldrick' last='Tyus-Vang'] 5'10" 220 lbs Osseo Middle 2028

Tyus-Vang is the definition of a two-way player. He was the most well-rounded of the linemen in the way that he was as good offensively as he was defensively. On offense, Tyus-Vang provided a steady anchor who was able to move around defensive linemen while run-blocking. On defense, Tyus-Vang hit a few nasty spin moves and was able to put offensive linemen through the blender if they didn't move their feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='1236896' first='Paulo' last='Espinosa'] 5'10" 255 lbs Olson Middle 2028

Espinosa is a brick wall. He was without a doubt among the strongest prospects at the showcase and it showed during drills. He could manhandle all of the other linemen during the run-blocking drills and was a force on the defensive side of the ball. When pass rushing he showed off a nice bend on the edge and hand-fought well on the interior. His physicality wears down offensive linemen quickly.

Evan Mitchell 6'4" 230 lbs Dowling Catholic (IA) 2028

Mitchell's outing was nothing short of spectacular today. Immediately he passes the eye test, and boy oh boy did he have a good combine. He ran a 5.2 40 multiple times and showcased his overall fantastic athleticism during the broad jump and pro agility drills. He was our OL camp MVP and fought like a gladiator during the 1v1s. He's got a long wingspan and plays low consistently.

[player_tooltip player_id='1738973' first='Kyrie' last='Hintzman'] 6'1" 230 lbs Maple Grove 2028

Although he started the day listed as a TE, Hintzman showed early on his positional versatility as he was able to pass rush and block in all facets proficiently. When pass-blocking, Hitntzman did a great job of consistently keeping opposing defensive linemen square and in front of him. When pass-rushing he provides a major threat outside of the tackles. Maple Grove is getting a good athlete this upcoming fall.
