’28 Pierson Degala Pierson Degala 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB Walton | 2028 GA
The 6’2 185 future Walton product checked all the boxes on Saturday and was my personal Overall MVP at the combine. Passed the eye test when he walked onto the field. A solid 6’2 185 that carries himself well. Displayed some of the best footwork I saw all weekend, even when compared to the high school group. Steps into his passes and absolute can throw ropes on the short route. Showed good accuracy on the long ball and has the arm strength to go over the top of the defense if he has to. Walton has a rep for developing good QBs and they have a very good one to work with over the next 4 years.
’28 Carson Hand Carson Hand 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Edmund Burke Academy | 2028 GA
The 6’1 170 gunslinger is listed as Richmond Academy, played his middle school ball last season in Waynesboro. He is another athlete that passed the eye test at the start of the day. He has a tall athletic frame with a solid base. He was a multisport guy through out middle school and you can tell he puts in the work in the weight room. He had real good velocity with tight spirals and I had him marked as the most accurate camper on the deep routes. Moves his feet well and you can tell he has poise in the pocket. Selected to the Georgia Future Stars team. We will be watching this guy over the next 4 years in the Augusta Area.
’28 CJ Payne
Gainesville just keeps the QBs coming and the next one in line in 6’1 155 CJ Payne. He led his 8th grade team to an undefeated season in 2023 and he showed why on Saturday. Showed good footwork and had good timing on the short routes. Very poised kid that you can tell he has been around the game all his life. Already has a head start on the vertical growth and a few years in the Red Elephant weight room and this kid will be on everyone’s radar.
’28 Jaycob Jones
The 2028 product is from the Conyers Area and is slated to attend Heritage High. One of the new names for me this weekend, Jones made a good impression with his overall arm strength. Threw a nice tight spiral on the short throws and was very accurate with good timing on the curl routes. He may not be as tall as some of the other competitors but he is solid and you can tell he spends time in the weight room. At a camp like this we really only see “prostyle” events but my guess is he can tuck the ball and run. A guy that has all the natural ability and skills to be a future star.
’28 Preston Stokes Preston Stokes 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH Washington-Wilkes | 2028 GA
The 5’11 160 Washington Wilkes product is a raw prospect at this point. Long and lean and very athletic. He threw some tight spirals and displayed good arm strength. He would go back and forth from on target to off target but you can see that he has all the potential to be a good high school QB. Plays at Washington Wilkes that has a great tradition at developing players and he has a very talented group of 2028 players there to learn and grow with. We will be tracking his progress over the next 4 years.
