The team, coached by Ryan Clark, was created with collaboration of the state’s top existing 7v7 groups as an opportunity to better unify the state’s top athletes — as well as others with Louisiana ties, such as LSU recruits — to compete at the highest national level.
Fleaux worked through initial kinks during a 1-2 Saturday in pool play before seemingly catching fire for a stretch Sunday on its way to the semifinals before falling, 42-38, in a shootout with eventual event winner Lo Pro.
LSU-committed 2025 quarterback Bryce Underwood (Michigan) was exceptional, and 2026 LSU cornerback target Shmar Akande (Florida) and 2027 Florida wide receiver Julius Jones Jr. (son of former New Orleans Saints running back Julius Jones) were among other non-Louisiana standouts.
And here are a few more notes on five of the top performers among the Louisiana natives that made up the bulk of the roster.
Harlem Berry Harlem Berry 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB St. Martin's | 2025 State LA — 5-11, 175 RB — St. Martin’s Episcopal (2025)
The St. Martin’s Episcopal star’s connection with his future LSU teammate in Underwood was one of the highlights — if not the highlight — of the entire event, as Berry showcased not only his ability with the ball in his hands that make him a star running back prospect, but his consistent vertical threat, route-running and catches in traffic and through contact. Berry was one of the most electric skill players on display throughout the weekend.
TaRon Francis TaRon Francis 6'1" | 190 lbs | WR Edna Karr | 2025 State LA — 6-1, 190 WR — Edna Karr (2025)
Another of Fleaux’s crew of LSU commits, the New Orleans standout lived up to his “ManChild” nickname with several pivotal and highlight-reel catches, including multiple third- and fourth-down conversions and a deep shot down the right sideline on which he elevated over a defender and snatched a beautifully placed throw from Underwood.
Zay Martin Zay Martin 5'9" | 150 lbs | WR University Lab | 2025 State LA — 5-9, 150 WR — University Lab (2025)
The Cubs’ quick-footed pass-catcher, the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers receiver Tay Martin, appeared to spend the bulk of the weekend wide open as he cooked one opposing defensive back after enough with his route-running and became another of Underwood’s favorite targets — often in the end zone, including the game-winner with six seconds remaining in a quarterfinal upset of South Florida Express.
Aiden Hall Aiden Hall 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Edna Karr | 2026 State LA — 6-2, 185 DB — Edna Karr (2026)
The Karr standout, one of the nation’s top 2026 safety prospects, snatched Fleaux’s only interception of the weekend — outleaping half a dozen other athletes for a quarterfinal-sealing pick of a Hail Mary heave by South Florida Express as time expired — as well as a Saturday pass breakup in the end zone that helped highlight another of the few stops on a weekend on which the defense had trouble gelling fast enough to stop opposing offenses and their notable advantages in experience together and chemistry.
Aidan Anding Aidan Anding 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Ruston | 2025 State LA — 5-11, 165 DB — Ruston (2025)
Another of the steadier performers on the Fleaux defense, Anding held his own outside against some high-profile and speedy opposing wide receivers with his own recovery speed and well-timed late plays on the ball quickly shutting down most windows even when the offense appeared to gain a brief advantage.
