Huegel should be closing in on his first FCS offer, as he is a no brainer FCS+ level talent and one of the top defensive linemen in the region. He is coming off a stellar junior season campaign for one of the top teams in the northern section, and should be one of Norcal’s leading sack leaders in 2024. He is explosive off the ball, shoots his hands quickly and can violently get off blocks while providing a relentless pass rush and pressure off the edge. He also shows very impressive position versatility and can kick inside when needed, locks out blockers and does a good job at using his length to his advantage and playing long. He is a high motor kid that can collapse the pocket quickly and makes consistent plays in the backfield. All of 6’4 and change, he can pack on more weight in college and fill out his frame, giving him tons of growth potential.
Highlights
Manuel Colon
Manuel Colon
Colon is another interior defender with elite length and athleticism and has really been flying under the radar over the past couple of years. He has an elite first step, creates immediate vertical push backwards to reset the LOS, and wins with heavy hands and a low hat to get underneath blockers and win with leverage and power. He is able to take on double teams and eat up blocks while also athletic enough to two-gap when needed. He also shows a quick redirect and can quickly get into the backfield while a sure tackler in the box and is a high motor kid that can turn and run to make plays in space. It is hard to come by interior pass rushers with length, and Colon’s athletic ability and length for the nose position makes him very intriguing and a no brainer offer now candidate.
Fangupo will be a four year starter when his career comes to an end and plays for one of the top small school teams in the state of California. He is a violent run stuffer that has tremendous leverage, lower body power and is a true plug in the middle of the Gators defense. Although a bit undersized, he does a nice job at playing big, relying on his technique, hands and powerful hips to hold his gap and also provide an interior pass rush when needed. A high motor kid that can redirect and make tackles outside the box, while also able to quickly collapse the pocket with closing speed and proper angles/bend to the quarterback. He is a no brainer D3+ player and one of the best defensive tackles in all of Northern California.

Vernus Ragsdale
Vernus Ragsdale
Vallejo is coming off one of their more successful seasons in some time, and Ragsdale leads the defensive front for them. He is a quick twitched and long pass rusher that can cover a ton of ground quickly coming off the edge, and is a natural bender and speed rusher off the edge while able to consistently win against tackles in one on one match ups. He flashes quick block recognition,, can squeeze and take on pullers/lead blockers and also does a nice job at playing long and using his length to choke out blockers before shedding. Ragsdale has good closing speed and can track down ball carriers backside when needed, and is a high motor kid that also has the frame to pack on weight through out his college career. A still raw and developing prospect, his natural length and size with his athleticism and movement abilities give him a good shot as seeing post high school success in the right program.
