Many football coaches will tell you that offensive line is the most important position on the field. Yet, the O-Line is also arguably the most underappreciated position in football, largely because they never have the ball in their hands. In Part 2 of a series, here are 10 More Offensive Linemen To Watch In New Mexico for 2024:

[player_tooltip player_id='769759' first='Sultan' last='Arenas'], Centennial: As the Hawks center, Arenas will be the anchor of an experienced Centennial offensive line that returns every starter from a year ago. Arenas was impressive at multiple camps a year ago and we expect the same thing this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1126211' first='Brayden' last='Davidson'], Rio Rancho: Rio Rancho's O-Line will be one of the best and most experienced in the state this coming season , and Davidson is a major reason for that. He's 6-foot-2, 250 pounds and plays right tackle for the Rams. As a promising 2026 prospect, he still has two more seasons with RRHS. He recently attended Junior Days at Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M.

Robert Deherrera, Sandia: Deherrera is a rising junior and his size (6-1, 280 pounds) and skill make him a nice interior OL prospect for the next level. But first he has two more years with the Matadors, who are coming off a superb 2023 season in which they earned the No. 4 seed and a 1st round bye in the Class 6A playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='510673' first='Ezra' last='Hensley'], Deming: Hensley is the #2 OL prospect in our 2025 rankings behind only La Cueva's [player_tooltip player_id='1118241' first='Mark' last='Handy']. Hensley is 6-foot-3, 275 pounds and strong as an ox. He won the Class 4A state title at the recent powerlifting championships, lifting over 1,300 pounds. UTEP has shown interest and Hensley visited there for Junior Day and Spring Game last weekend. Numerous other schools have invited him to camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='837139' first='Gabriel' last='Marquez'], Cleveland: At 6-foot-0, 250 pounds, Marquez is a tank. He dead lifted 535 pounds at the recent state powerlifting championships and finished 2nd overall in the 275-pound class. He's one of the top interior O-Linemen in the state. Marquez has been offered by New Mexico Highlands with more to come over the next several months.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258904' first='Samuel' last='McCargish'], NMMI: The 6-foot-5, 270-pound McCargish probably isn't well known outside of Roswell but he helped himself immensely by winning the 308-pound class in Class A-3A at the state powerlifting championships. He's an outstanding run blocker and helps fuel NMMI's vaunted triple option attack.

[player_tooltip player_id='853015' first='Alex' last='Rivera'], Lovington: The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Rivera is a rising junior but he already has extensive varsity experience. He's a two-year starter along the offensive front. He finished third in the 308-pound division in Class 4A at the state powerlifting championships. Few OL duos in the state are better than Rivera and [player_tooltip player_id='613058' first='Valente' last='Herrera']. Both are extremely strong.

[player_tooltip player_id='851889' first='Skyler' last='Sargent'], La Cueva: You don't see many sophomores starting for La Cueva, especially on the O-Line. But Sargent achieved the feat last season. He started 13 games at center, finished with 31 pancake blocks and helped the Bears win the 6A state title. Deadlifts 455 pounds, impressive for somebody who's still a sophomore in high school.

[player_tooltip player_id='1266547' first='Luke' last='Stailey'], Silver: Stailey is another promising young 2026 offensive linemen that doesn't get enough credit based on geography. He's been a two-year starter for the Colts and earned First-Team All-District honors at left guard in 2023. Good size at 6-foot-2, 275 pounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1118249' first='Joaquin' last='Wofford'], Las Cruces: The Bulldawgs have a tradition of producing elite offensive linemen and Wofford is the latest next level prospect from that unit. He's 6-foot-5, 290 pounds and showed significant improvement last season as he helped Las Cruces reach the 6A playoff semifinals.
