Here is a look at five eight-man athletes who rushed for 1,000 yards during their junior seasons. All five are in the Class of 2025 and hope to parlay solid senior seasons into a college scholarship offer.
Ryan Sramek Ryan Sramek 5'9" | 135 lbs | ATH Rawlins County | 2025 State KS , RB, 5’9”, 135, Rawlins County
Sramek rushed for 1,982 yards on 265 carries in 11 games for Rawlins County. The Buffaloes’ running back found the end zone 32 times at the end of a carry. He also caught 11 passes, four of which he took to the house. The Rawlins County prospect is currently ranked No. 351 overall in the class of 2025.
JT Prusa JT Prusa 5'9" | 165 lbs | ATH South Central | 2025 State KS , ATH, 5’9”, 165, South Central
Prusa is a fleet-footed athlete who can play quarterback, defensive back, or in the slot. He rushed for 1,738 yards in 12 games for the Timberwolves. He scored 32 touchdowns on the ground, while also throwing for 11 scores and 561 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded three interceptions and 50 total tackles. Prep Redzone currently has Prusa ranked No. 326 overall among his class of 2025 peers.
Creyo Koop Creyo Koop 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH West Elk | 2025 State KS , ATH, 5’10”, 175, West Elk
The West Elk prospect is dangerous as a ball carrier and as a linebacker. He carried the ball 145 times for 1,563 yards as a junior. In three years of varsity action for the Patriots, he has rushed for 3,964 yards and 85 touchdowns. He has scored at least 24 touchdowns in each of his three high school campaigns. Last fall he racked up 96 total tackles for West Elk and has 225 career tackles and 11 quarterback sacks. Koop is currently ranked No. 175 overall by Prep Redzone.
Josh Hutchinson, RB, 5’11”, 170, Oswego
Hutchinson is currently unranked, but don’t sleep on this running back. In nine games for the Oswego Indians, he rushed for 1,343 yards on 158 carries. On the defensive side of the ball, he finished with four interceptions and 85 total tackles in his junior season. Prep Redzone will be keeping a close watch on his improvement.
Khris Hermosillo Khris Hermosillo 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Wichita County | 2025 State KS , ATH, 5’10”, 175, Wichita County
Hermosillo is a unique and explosive athlete. He rushed for 1,219 yards in 11 games last season. He has recorded back-to-back seasons of 1,200-plus yards rushing. He has rushed for 48 total touchdowns over the past two seasons and plays defensive end for the Wichita County Indians. With his unique speed and strength, it is not a shock that he would have 45 total tackles for loss in three seasons. Prep Redzone currently has Hermosillo ranked No. 175 overall in the class of 2025.
