There are plenty of quarterbacks from Canada headed to play at the next level in Canada and some of these prospects who are listed below make up some of the most talented offensive players in the country. While some are moving to the next level, some also may be transitioning to play at prep schools and extend their “High School” careers looking to develop their game to play at the next level.
These guys make up some of the best signal callers in the country and each have distinct skillsets that land them in our rankings.
Top Ranked
Barresi was a clear choice for the top QB prospect in the 24 class. Barresi out of Cardinal Newman in Ontario just plays with a high level of poise and command. On film, his confidence is evident, and his ability to control the pocket and read the field is impressive. Barresi can make throws all over the field and displays the ability to throw both from the pocket and on the run. Barresi scans the field well and showcases consistent decision-making where he gets the ball to his open guys quickly. Barresi also makes several throws in his tape from the opposite hash to the sideline across most of the field where he displays not only good arm strength but also an understanding of when to put some velocity on balls and when to throw with more touch and air under the ball.
The Next Five
Ouellette the leading passer in Quebec this past season for Limoilou has had a coveted career in Canada. Ouellette is an athletic quarterback prospect who can make plays on his feet or through the air. Ouellette is confident throwing the ball and has some serious velocity and arm strength. Ouellette is the type of dual-threat prospect who consistently pushes the ball vertically and showcases his ability to make defenders miss in open space as a runner. Ouellette reads the field well and showcases the ability to get to his second and third reads consistently.
Adrian Mohammed Adrian Mohammed 6’0″ | 170 lbs | QB Etobicoke Collegiate Institute | 2024 State CAD out of Etobicoke Collegiate, is a talented dual-threat QB prospect who has a distant longer release on film. He shows the ability to sling the ball all over the field and has very consistent accuracy and touch. Mohammed shows good arm strength and the ability to put some velocity on the ball. Mohammad is a talented thrower on the run, he showcases the ability to maintain his accuracy on the run and does a really good job of using his eyes to find guys down the field on broken plays. Mohammed also shows good escapability and the ability to make plays as a runner past the LOS.
Blake Penner Blake Penner 6’3″ | 170 lbs | QB Dakota Collegiate | 2024 State CAD out of Dakota Collegiate was one of the most consistent Quarterback prospects in Canada and was dominant this fall. Penner shows some impressive arm talent on film consistently making deep throws with a ton of air under them with impressive touch and accuracy. Penner pushes the ball down the field just as much if not more than most quarterbacks in Canada. He shows good patience in the pocket and often puts balls in locations where only the receiver can get them. Penner has some athleticism to his game where he shows mobility outside of the pocket and the ability to get upfield as a runner when he is forced to leave the pocket.

Nico Brown Nico Brown 6’4″ | 185 lbs | QB Darcy Mcgee | 2024 State CAD who was a class of 24′ from his High School ball in Ontario will continue to play before heading to college and the talented QB prospect showcased why he is not only one of the best in Ontario but in the entire country. Brown is super athletic and one of the most dangerous runners from the QB position in the country. With a super quick release and some pretty impressive arm talent, Brown has the size, athleticism, and arm talent combination that is not replicated by many across the country. He showed year-to-year improvements in his footwork and will continue to be an intriguing prospect has he develops his consistency.
Casselman’s most recent tape was from the summer league in Ontario where he showcased some impressive poise in the pocket and consistency as a passer. Casselman plays with consistent footwork and plays the game in a clear rhythm with an emphasis on getting the ball out quickly. Casselman showcases really good athleticism with burst and twitch as a runner helping him display high level escapability and the ability to be an impactful runner past the LOS on broken plays.
Other Prospects I Liked
Trey Jones Trey Jones QB Langley | 2024 State CAD is a super intriguing prospect from British Columbia, and the left has one of the prettiest deep balls in the province. Jones is not afraid to stick in the pocket and deliver balls under pressure and his accuracy and touch down the field are evident in tons of film that features him pushing the ball vertically. Jones may not be an elite athlete but at the quarterback position, he shows enough athleticism to work outside the pocket and get his fair share of first downs when his blocking breaks down. Jones creates big plays down the field and on the run and has a smooth snappy release.
Nick Rasile Nick Rasile QB Corpus Christi | 2024 State CAD out of Corpus Christi may not be the biggest QB but at just under 6′ he has the bulk (200lbs) to last at the next level. Rasile is a talented dual-threat prospect, he is poised in the pocket and has good awareness of whats going on around him. His strong lower half and balance help him escape sacks and break tackles. Throwing the ball, Rasile shows good decision-making and the ability to make throws all over the field. With a sidearm like release, Rasile is able to get some good air under his deep throws and consistently showed the ability to throw over the linebackers and under the safeties in zone coverage.
Brady Vindevoghel Brady Vindevoghel 6’1″ | 175 lbs | QB Miller Comprehensive | 2024 State CAD out of Miller has a big arm and the ability to push the ball down the field with his big arm. Vindevoghel throws well on the run and often can get the ball 30+ yards down the field just using his upper body. Vindevoghel can throw across his body and with a flick of a wrist showcases some high-level touch on deep throws. Vindeveghel also has some small skillsets that are noticeable on tape. Vendevoghel has impressive fake handoffs on play-action plays and uses some delay and change of pace in his dropback to create more space or better throwing angles. A talented arm with some noticeable intangibles to his game.
