Here’s a look at several intriguing prospects who earned top-125 spots and should be known and monitored by college coaches and recruiting fans — but haven’t yet been highlighted in positional breakdowns and other rankings pieces.
Kyree Paul Kyree Paul 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Istrouma | 2025 State LA — 5-10, 175 ATH — Istrouma
The Indians’ three-phase star is the first of some major speedsters atop this list. Paul racked up 1,365 yards and 14 touchdowns on 146 carries as a running back with his explosive changes of direction and acceleration to and through the second level. But the well-rounded prospect also caught 11 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns, returned a combined 12 kick and punt returns for 570 yards and six scores and intercepted four passes as a defensive back, including two he returned for scores.
Kingston Jones Kingston Jones 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR John F. Kennedy | 2025 State LA — 6-0, 175 WR — John F. Kennedy
and James Evans James Evans 5'9" | 140 lbs | WR John F. Kennedy | 2025 State LA — 5-9, 140 WR — John F. Kennedy
The Cougars’ speedy wide receiver duo both earned top-100 debuts in this round of rankings and should be notable prospects to watch this summer at college camps and this fall with the program’s continuity in the passing game. As his “Cheetah” nickname would suggest, Jones is one of the state’s fastest players with high-level enough track times to be navigating his recruitment as a two-sport prospect. The smaller Evans boasts breakaway speed, too, but maybe even more impressive short-area quickness and elusiveness to make defenders miss, which he did often during a junior campaign of 758 yards and 18 scores on just 32 receptions (23.7 yards per catch).
KD Mays KD Mays 5'11" | 210 lbs | LB Central (Baton Rouge) | 2025 State LA — 5-11, 210 LB — Central (Baton Rouge)
KD Mays KD Mays 5'11" | 210 lbs | LB Central (Baton Rouge) | 2025 State LA doesn’t have the same height as twin DK, the Wildcats’ standout defensive lineman, but does boast several other of his twin’s attributes we’ve highlighted so much in various pieces. KD is a thickly built and strong athlete and explosive tackler in his own right, excelling around the box and making plays in the backfield. But he also shows comfort backpedaling and navigating space when called upon to drop in coverage.
TJ Hullaby TJ Hullaby 5'11" | 165 lbs | ATH Peabody | 2025 State LA — 5-11, 165 ATH — Peabody
Another speedy and versatile standout, Hullaby was a nearly 1,000-yard receiver for his Warhorses’ offense, catching 58 passes for 989 yards and 15 scores, while also snatching a pair of interceptions on defense and returning three kicks for scores. His speed stood out in all of those capacities, but the multisport athlete, also a member of the school’s state-championship basketball team, additionally showed the leap, ball skills and body control to make challenging and acrobatic catches.
Raymon McKneely Raymon McKneely 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Liberty Magnet | 2025 State LA — 6-2, 180 DB — Liberty Magnet
McNeese State recently extended the first college scholarship offer to the Patriots’ defensive back, and intriguing potential diamond in the rough. McKneely is a tall, rangy cornerback who shows on film good speed and fluidity in his transitions to blanket opposing receivers all fall as a junior and snatch three interceptions with good ball skills and a two-way background as a pass-catcher as well.
Oliver Mitchell Jr. Oliver Mitchell Jr. 6'3" | 175 lbs | WR Edna Karr | 2025 State LA — 6-3, 175 WR — Edna Karr
The big target made the most of his opportunities this fall in the Cougars’ loaded receiving corps, has picked up eight offers during the few months since and figures to be a notable player and prospect to watch this summer on the camp circuit and this fall in a more prominent role. Mitchell’s junior film shows well-run routes creating space over the middle and good ball skills from tracking to strong, reliable hands making catches in stride, through contact or on diving plays.
TaMarques Pritchard TaMarques Pritchard 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Oak Grove | 2025 State LA — 6-1, 180 DB — Oak Grove
The Tigers’ big three-phase standout caught our attention in the Division-IV Non-Select state championship game in which he returned a kickoff 88 yards for a score, intercepted a pass and recorded two tackles. His full junior film shows great instincts and timing to make consistent plays on — and interceptions of — passes his direction. Pritchard has good size and appears to be may be one of the state’s most physical defensive backs, a trait that in particular stands out at his smaller-school level as he throws aside perimeter blockers to get into the backfield and disrupt screens and runs.
Jayden Perry Jayden Perry 6'2" | 165 lbs | DB Jewel Sumner | 2025 State LA — 6-1, 160 DB/ATH — Jewel Sumner
The long, lean athlete is a three-phase playmaker for his Cowboys, but at his best playing the back end of the defense where his discipline, instincts and speed help him cover a ton of ground, shutting down passing windows in a hurry and setting up plays on the ball. Perry is also a physical player and willing tackler, crashing down in run support or chasing down and shutting down receivers to limit yards after the catch.
