– That being said Vic believes this is Virginia best class to come through in quite some time, look at the rankings close to 200 kids will have FBS level offers, most other states will be lucky to get half those numbers.
– There are a lot of surprises and big time stock risers in our rankings, Cole Laing and myself will be breaking down all of them in the next month.
The highest ranked kid from Prince William County is Clemson commit and Freedom star receiver/corner Carleton Preston Carleton Preston 6’0″ | 165 lbs | WR Freedom | 2025 State VA . He will be entering his senior season hoping to become a 3 time state champion, with the Eagles graduating a ridiculous strong senior class, can Preston and company make it back their? Virginia high school football is very impressive and let me add residing in Northern Virginia this side of the state has excellent football. It is very cool to see Preston ranked this high, Dabo Swinney and his staff have been on him for quite some time, Clemson really is cleaning up the entire state.

When Vic texted me about this special talent I was not surprised as Hayfield’s defensive star Ian Hall Ian Hall 6’3″ | 200 lbs | DL Hayfield | 2025 State VA is rapidly rising up many FBS schools interest. With new Head Coach Daryl Overton in the fold you best believe Hall will be playing Power 5 football in 2025, here is what I wrote about him back in early March:
One who arguably may benefit the most is rising senior defensive end Ian Hall Ian Hall 6’3″ | 200 lbs | DL Hayfield | 2025 State VA . The young man is 6’3 200 lbs. of power and speed, racking up 10 sacks as a junior. Wearing number 11 he reminds me of a couple of the number 11s who played for Penn State, he is everywhere on the field! He is as an athletic freak who is starting to garner serious FBS level interest. Trust me he is worth the watch below.
Highlights
Micah Matthews Micah Matthews 6’3″ | 205 lbs | ATH Turner Ashby | 2025 State VA has a chance to play both football and baseball at the FBS level, he is already one of the top baseball products in the country but he has made it clear he has a deep love for football too and why not. The two sport all state honoree has over 15 offers with Utah, Virginia Tech and North Carolina considered to be the favorites to land his services. Whatever he decides to enroll he can play both sports right away and will be on your television screen next year both in fall and spring!
Camren Boykin stock is rising by the minute and he will not stop until he gets the respect he deserves. One of the best quarterbacks in Virginia Boykin is sure to be at least an FCS level player in 2025. For my money he is an FBS talent with schools such as Maryland, James Madison and Duke showing interest, he is sure to get major offers soon. Playing for the Potomac School this young man has the size, speed and arm strength to lead the Panthers against a tough independent schedule.

My co-worker Cole Laing has been high on Davidson for quite some time so I wasn’t surprised when he cracked our top ten ranking. The Clemson commit is the leader of an explosive offense at Liberty Christian Academy, one where he is their workhorse and his teammates follow. When I told you back in December this running back group had a chance to be special I was not lying, here is what Cole said about him in that piece:
Gideon displays very good athletic traits of quick feet, speed, change of direction, and agility. He is patient when he receives the handoff to allow his blocks to develop and has very good burst through the hole with very good acceleration and elite contact balance as a runner. He has no issue lowering his shoulder to take on linebackers and can evade defensive backs to take it to the house. I was able to watch him live this past season, and you see his competitive toughness stand out for the duration of the entire game as he makes an impact on all three phases and is a leader in how he plays the game. The Clemson commit is not just one of the best RBs in Virginia, but one of the best in the country for the class of 2025.
