Delaware had a strong showing, especially along the Offensive & Defensive lines, with lots of prospects that could rise in the rankings after this summer. I am highlighting a few of the top Delaware Prospects you need to know this spring and for next fall.
The #1 rated player out of DE, RJ is a player I had the luxury of seeing live early on this past fall at the PigSkin Memorial Classic, and he stood out to me right away. Basketball kid, still new to the game he shows a ton of potential and progress. You can see his basketball background in his game, possessing great hips and explosiveness off the edge. Re-directs well, runs on his does, is active and shows he is a high level athlete. Has active hands and a strong motor. Takes on double teams, gets his hands up to knock down passes and displays a good understanding of the game for still being new to it. Talked with his Def Cord. & former NFL LB Paul Worrilow back in the fall and he said he will be a no brainer Power 5 kid. That prediction holds strong with RJ being the #31 overall player in our rankings, the 6th overall DL prospect and already holding a handful of major offers. RJ will have a big summer and expect him to garner more attention & offers in the near future.
Coming in a #59 overall and the #13 DL prospect, James is a player who is still under rated in the recruiting world. I look forward to seeing more of himself soon. Holding offers from Holy Cross & Lafayette, that number will grow significantly shortly. A great frame kid at 6’4″ and a lean 265, James looks every bit the part. Was 1st team all state this pas year and one of the top players in all of DE. He shows great hand technique. He has great pop off the snap and shows a wide array of pass rush moves. Can use swim & rip moves effectively, hit you with a spin, has great speed to power and overall a fast, strong physical DE prospect. James is a a Power 5 kid and colleges need to be checking him out this spring.
Highlights
Cael is a player I have seen since his freshman year and he has always impressed me with his play. Been able to watch him live many times at games and practices over the years and I am confident in calling him the best OL in the state of DE. He comes in at #41 in the overall rankings in the #7 overall OL prospect. You know Cael is a strong athletic kid as he is also a 2x Delaware State Champion Heavyweight Wrestler. He has great feet, moves well and a strong pull OL who can get out in space. He is even used as a move TE/H-Back to be an impact blocker. Cael continues to get stronger every year and he is one to finish blocks and put guys in the dirt. Is effective at both OL and DL at DMA, and can see him playing OT or OG going forward. Cael has a skill set that transfers well to the next level and being a high academic kid as well, colleges need to be on this kid and more offers will come his way this spring.
Manny is a towering figure at a verified 6’6″ 300lbs+ and 81″ wingspan. Coming in a as a top 100 player at #92 overall and #14 OL prospect, he is a literal can’t miss player. Emmanuel is a mauler who can move. He possesses a strong punch and strength to flatten defenders. He has all the tools to develop into a big time player. Just needs to continue to fill out his frame and get stronger, Manny could be a riser in these rankings after the summer.
Michael had an excellent junior season and just missed out on. being in the top 100…coming in at #104. An impact player on both sides of the ball, but a force on the DL, Michael can play as a strong side DE or at DT. He is best interior in my mind, he will continue to bulk up his frame and be monster as a quick pass rushing DT. Michael shows excellent burst of the snap, is in the backfield before the OL is out of their stance. Demonstrates a great swim move, club & rip , and spin move. He is a high motor player, who has nice bend and twitch. He can get skinny and shoot the gap, runs well with good feet and power thru the hips. Michael recently just picked up his 2nd D1 offer and I can only imagine he will garner more this spring. He is a pure 3 tech playmaker, shown to be unblock-able at times and is one of the best players in the state of DE.
Jase is a long lean DE standing 6’3″ and having an 80″ wingspan. He comes in ranking at #230 and the #47 DL overall and was an all state player in Delaware. Jase is a 3 sport guy also, competing in basketball and track, solid overall athlete for sure. With good bend, burst and the ability to re-direct and get down the line, Jase is a player who is alway around the ball and in the backfield. He has good twitchy hips, runs on his toes and can get to the ball carrier consistently. Can rip through blockers and get skinny through the gap on them, Jase is tough to get hands on. A high football IQ player as well you can see he understands the game, positioning and where he needs to be on the field. That makes sense seeing as how he has a 3.71 GPA and is a high academic kid. While holding no offers so far, I see Jase picking up a few this spring when coaches get out on the road.
Ryan shows up on the 2025 rankings as the #281 overall and #30 WR, but he has a lot of room to shoot up the board as he is just now showing what he can be as a wide out. Ryan played mainly QB and DB for Wilmington Friends out of necessity but he will be a WR or even a Flex TE at the next level. He is all of 6’5″ with a long lean frame and a basketball player as well. That shows as well as Ryan can go up and get the ball and shows natural hands. With a long stride and some surprising twitch in his hips, Ryan is a capable playmaker. He is currently showing well on the 7v7 circuit and can see him really blossoming as he continues to develop as a WR. A high academic prospect as well, Ryan has a 3.66 GPA and a 1130 score on the SATs, and with his older brother playing at Yale, i can see him being another strong look for IVY/Patriot schools this summer. Ryan currently holds no offers but will be at the National Preps Spring Showcase in May as well as hitting the camp circuit in the summer, I expect him to be holding a few going into his senior year.
