But what happened to head coach Phillip Prior and his team over the second half squashed any thought of this team playing well into November.
The 1-4 record down the stretch was a disappointment with two key district losses putting an end to the season.
With that season to think about and ponder what went wrong, this team started to focus on the spring and summer. They knew that the talent coming back learned enough from last season to not only use it as motivation, but also as a learning experience.
THE RISING SENIORS ARE READY
With the seniors from last year moving on, it will now be up to the rising seniors (2025) to take charge and make sure what happened in 2023 will not repeat itself.
There are some quality prospects in the class who have the opportunity to get this program over the hump.
Here is a look at some of those players:
Jace Eldridge (LB, 6-3, 195 – 3.18 GPA).
Troy Eskew (TE, 6-0, 184 – 3.03 GPA. 1000 SAT).
Zy Floyd (QB, 5-10, 160 – 2.65 GPA).
Bryan Gonzalez (OL, 5-10, 262 – 3.5 GPA).
Thimothee Woods (WR, 5-7, 140 – 2.86 GPA).

HOW ARE THE CLASS OF 2026 ATHLETES GOING TO IMPACT THE CHARGERS?
While all eyes will be on the rising senior class, the 2026 rising juniors also have the talent to make positive things happen as well.
With talent on both sides of the ball, here is a look at those prospects:

Cam Eckard (OL, 6-4, 250 – 3.71 GPA).
Hunter Hall (Athlete, 6-0, 170 – 3.13 GPA).
Zayveon Springfield (LB, 5-8, 155).
Billy Vaughn (DL, 5-11, 245).
