While there were other states who came to compete, this was all about Florida – southern Florida in particular.
With younger prospects coming on Saturday – Sunday was all about those nationally recognized names, and they did not disappoint.
Because we promote and expose these athletes year-round, the prospects who emerge from an event such as Under Armour, is great, but nothing that those who follow this year-round, are surprised by.
With national writers and analysts on hand, the focus was on prospects from all over the country and in the state of Florida.
Our objective at these showcases is to check out the Miami-Dade and Broward prospects.
On this day, players such as Pembroke Pines West Broward receiver Joshua Moore Joshua Moore 6'3" | 205 lbs | WR Pembroke Pines West Broward | 2025 State FL , Homestead receiver Cortez Mills Cortez Mills 6'1" | 160 lbs | WR Homestead | 2025 State FL , Miami Booker T. Washington standout defensive back Miami Central defensive tackle newcomer Floyd Boucard Floyd Boucard 6'3" | 270 lbs | DL Miami Central | 2025 State FL (Mobile Christian, Alabama), Miami Northwestern receiver Jade Card Jade Card 6'2" | 195 lbs | ATH Miami Northwestern | 2025 State FL and his teammate, defensive back Zion Paret Zion Paret 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Miami Northwestern | 2024 FL were watched by everyone on hand.
Moore and Mills are among the best in the nation.
This past season, while covering many teams, you come across prospects that very few know about or watch.
Fort Lauderdale Westminster Academy receiver Dwayne Wimbley Jr. is one of those prospects we had the pleasure of watching live. He is not only an emerging football talent but is also a stellar basketball prospect.
While several positions are always watched, the south Florida stop always features some impressive receivers.
In addition to Moore, Mills and Wimbley, prospects such as Cocoa’s Jayvan Boggs Jayvan Boggs 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Cocoa | 2025 State FL (Ohio State commit), Winston Watkins Winston Watkins 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR Bradenton IMG Academy | 2025 State FL (Naples First Baptist), Miami Central’s Kha’leal Sterling Kha’leal Sterling 5'9" | 175 lbs | WR M iami Central | 2025 State FL and West Palm Beach Cardinal Newman transfer, Naeshaun Montgomery Naeshaun Montgomery 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Miami Central | 2025 State FL – Coconut Creek Monarch’s Antwaun Parham Antwaun Parham 6'4" | 200 lbs | ATH Coconut Creek Monarch | 2025 FL , 2026 receiver Jaysen “JRoc” Lopez from Miami True North Academy, Teddy Hoffman (Delray Beach Atlantic) and Miami Northwestern 2026 athlete Calvin Russell Calvin Russell 6'4" | 180 lbs | WR Miami Northwestern | 2026 FL were also impressive.
One of the running back prospects we have been watching for several years, following him to Cardinal Gibbons as a freshman is Derrek Cooper Derrek Cooper 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna | 2026 FL , who was singled out as a top running back. He is now at Chaminade-Madonna, and while he is a running back, the thing that has always made him special is his ability to lineup just about anywhere.
Other players singled out were Miami Norland twins Darryll Desir Darryll Desir 6'5" | 215 lbs | DL Miami Norland | 2025 State FL and Mandrell Desir Mandrell Desir 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL Miami Norland | 2025 State FL , who have everything going for them – on and off the playing field.
Another standout we had the pleasure of watching since the 8th grade is USF commit Caleb Harris Caleb Harris 6'3" | 265 lbs | OL Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas | 2025 State FL , a technically sound offensive linemen from St. Thomas Aquinas.
Coconut Creek Monarch’s Bryan Auguste Bryan Auguste 6'4" | 265 lbs | OL Boynton Beach | 2025 FL – another prospect we spotlighted during the off-season – was impressive as those who had no prior knowledge of his talents were bowled over.
Rising senior Miami Central linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin Ezekiel Marcelin 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Miami Central | 2025 State FL was also a head-turner, which everyone figured. He is quick, can cover and get it done in the classroom.
The future is also bright with Miami Carol City Class of 2026 standout Jordan Campbell, who committed to Miami.
Watching the defensive backs was also plenty of fun, and beside Hanks, there were others who have already made a lasting impression. St. Thomas Aquinas 2026 cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick Justice Fitzpatrick 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas | 2026 FL is the younger brother of NFL defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Chris Ewald Chris Ewald 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna | 2025 State FL was also someone who stood out as he is getting bigger and more physical as a corner at Chaminade-Madonna. He also gets it done in the classroom. Pembroke Pines Flanagan safety Jonathan Carter Jonathan Carter 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Pembroke Pines Flanagan | 2025 State FL , and versatile Miami Christopher Columbus safety Bryce Fitzgerald Bryce Fitzgerald 6'1" | 175 lbs | ATH Miami Christopher Columbus | 2025 State FL .
The quarterback position had numerous standouts – and 2026 Plantation American Heritage prospect Simeon Caldwell Simeon Caldwell 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Jacksonville Bolles | 2026 FL continues to showcase some major skills.
Last year at this time, there was some buzz with Bekkem Kritza competing for the starting job at Miami Central. He left, but now as a Penn State commitment is back and will play for the Rockets in 2024.
Miami commit Waden Charles Waden Charles 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Wellington Palm Beach Central | 2025 State FL of Palm Beach Central was his usual dominating self. The state of Florida is known for its running backs, and Naples’ Shawn Simeon Shawn Simeon 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Naples | 2025 State FL , who eclipsed 2,000 yards rushing as a junior at Naples, was as good as advertised.
Port Charlotte defensive lineman Myron Charles Myron Charles 6'5" | 270 lbs | DL Port Charlotte | 2025 State FL was one of the higher-ranked players who made their way south.
When it came to the offensive linemen, 2026 Kerby Vital Kerby Vital 6'2" | 270 lbs | OL Wewst Boca Raton | 2026 FL of West Boca, who comes over from Chaminade-Madonna, and Dylan Frechette of West Palm Beach Cardinal Newman did well too.
Adam Balogoun-Ali, a 2026 linebacker from North Palm Beach Benjamin School tested well.
Lake Minneola’s William Jackson William Jackson 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Lake Minneola | 2027 FL is a name to put away for the future. The 2027 quarterback hasn’t started a game yet, but he’s athletic and can spray it around.
Jacksonville Zarephath Academy’s quarterback Jordan Durham was also impressive.
