After watching an assortment of talented prospects showcase their skillset, here’s my list of the best 15U standouts from day one of 7v7 competition.
At the top of my list is Vernon Slaughter, a quarterback for Yog Select 7v7 that made a significant difference at the helm of the offense due to his height, arm strength and ability to hit his receivers in stride from anywhere on the field. Slaughter additionally had no problems launching bullets into the endzone, proving he can quickly put points on the scoreboard with his strong passing game.

Another prospect to capture my attention was Marcus Cameron Marcus Cameron 6’1″ | 155 lbs | QB Blackman | 2027 TN , a quarterback for Team Grind Hard 7v7 that immediately impressed on Saturday morning. In addition to great size and footwork in the pocket, what makes Cameron such a dangerous gunslinger is his quick release, showcasing his ability to complete the short pass. I also liked Cameron’s ability to hit his receivers in stride from along the edge.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is Sutton Gutting Sutton Gutting 6’5″ | 195 lbs | TE Ravenwood | 2027 TN , a tight end for TN Savages 7v7 that made his presence known down the stretch on Saturday afternoon. What impressed me about Gutting was his size and wingspan, using his height to overpower defenders and his wingspan to haul in the deep pass. Gutting also proved he could create solid seperation and elevate off the ground to catch the touchdown pass in the endzone.

I am additionally impressed with Zion Wade Zion Wade WR Ezell-Harding | 2027 TN , an athlete for Mid-TN Wolfpack 7v7 that established himself offensively, proving his ability to haul in the short pass and punch into scoring range. I also like Wade’s size and speed off the snap, proving to be difficult to contain in coverage due to his electric speed, core strength and his ability to muscle his way to the ball in the air.
Kaleb Hodge
Kaleb Hodge
Coming in at number five on my list is Kaleb Hodge, an athlete for TN Stars 7v7 that established himself as a top tier playmaker due to his outstanding height and wingspan. I also liked how Hodge could execute on both sides with ease, showcasing his ability to remain composed under pressure, elevate off the ground to attack the ball as well as contest the deep pass in the endzone.
