We had a great weekend of football and saw so many players at all levels making plays both days. Congratulations to our champions of the tournament! 502 7v7 out of Kentucky had a perfect weekend, capped off with the 18U championship. Slaughter House Elite is taking the 15U and 14U championships back to South Carolina. Legacy U won a defensive battle to take the 12U championship back to Ohio and NPA Green got the day started by winning the 10U championship.

We will have a ton of content over the next few days breaking down the action from the tournament. From player breakdowns in all divisions to photos and video highlights, Prep Redzone is committed to being America's Most Covered 7v7 Circuit. The coverage before, during and now after the Music City Mayhem is unmatched! Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone for more players breakdowns and follow our social channels for photos and video highlights! For now, we take a look at the MVP selections from Sunday's championship games!

Brycen Hathaway - 2031 Athlete - NPA Green

We kick off this breakdown with the MVP of the 10U championship game! NPA Green had a perfect weekend and were dominant from the start. They ran away with the title, winning 19-4 on Sunday morning. And they jumped out early behind 2031 athlete Brycen Hathaway and his fast start. On the first drive of the game, Hathaway made a spectacular catch over a defender to keep NPA Green on the move. He would finish off that drive with a touchdown reception. Hathaway was a fantastic two-way player on Sunday as he also made several key plays on the defensive side of the ball. On a team that was so dominant all weekend, Hathaway showed out in the championship game and earned MVP honors.

Kevin Johnson - 2027 Quarterback - Slaughter House Elite

The first of three quarterbacks on this MVP breakdown is 2027 signal caller Kevin Johnson from Slaughter House Elite in South Carolina. They rolled to the 15U championship with a 28-8 win over West Michigan Drive and were impressive in the title game. The offense had no problems jumping out to an early lead and Johnson was the reason behind that. The freshman quarterback was delivering strike after strike and the thing that impressed us the most in that title game was his poise and ability to distribute the ball. After talking with some other writers, it was clear that Slaughter House Elite had some game breakers at wide receiver and Johnson did a very good job of keeping all of them involved.

Kolter Smith - 2024 Quarterback - 502 7v7

502 7v7 2024 quarterback Kolter Smith was one of the top quarterbacks we mentioned heading into this weekend's tournament. Needless to say, he lived up to the hype. Smith led the Kentucky-based program to the 18U championship and they were absolutely dominant throughout the two days in Tennessee. Smith was nearly perfect in the championship win over The Pride as they finished off an 8-0 weekend. Similar to the 15U MVP in Johnson, Smith had some absolute studs around him and he was keeping all of them involved. This is the second straight year that Smith has impressed us at the Music City Mayhem tourney. And with him graduating in May, this 7v7 season is like "the last dance" for him and some teammates.

Michael Thompson - 2029 Defensive Back - Legacy U 7v7

Legacy U out of Ohio won the 12U championship and were 6-0 on the weekend but they certainly had some close calls. Of the six wins, four were by five points or less, including the championship game against the Tennessee Stars. And in the championship game, scoring was at a premium as both offenses struggled but because of the play of 2029 defensive back Michael Thompson, Legacy U edged out the Stars 18-13. Thompson would finish the game with four interceptions and those points provided the difference in the game. Thompson's performance was one of the best from a defensive back in any division that we watched in person this weekend. And he didn't it on the biggest stage Sunday.

Silas Brawner - 2027 Quarterback - Slaughter House Elite

Slaughter House Elite took not one but two championships back to South Carolina after this weekend in Murfreesboro. The 14U championship was won by Slaughter House Elite after they beat TFP Flite Boyz Black 26-9 and 2027 quarterback Silas Brawner was terrific in the win. Brawner had a performance very similar to Johnson where he was poised throughout the game and delivered some fantastic strikes down the field. The run that Slaughter House Elite made on Sunday was an impressive one. In the semifinals, they avenged their only loss of the weekend when they beat the #1 seed from NPA. They beat three of the top four seeds to win the title and Brawner was fun to watch in the title game on Sunday.
