March Update: 2025 New Additions

Every couple of months, Prep Redzone Arkansas updates the player rankings for each class. During that process, we add new prospects to the list with each update that we do. In this article, we are going to highlight several new additions to keep an eye on this offseason as well as during the 2024 football season.   [player_tooltip player_id='1192090' first='Skyler' last='Gibson']-Defensive Back-Nashville-5'10” 160-Pounds   The Nashville Scrappers always do a great job of producing players that have the potential to play on Saturdays each season. [player_tooltip player_id='1192090' first='Skyler' last='Gibson'] is a defensive back that does a job of reading the play as well as the quarterback. Gibson has no trouble playing aggressively with opposing wide receivers. He does a good job of playing the ball while it is in the air. Gibson has the potential to have a big season this upcoming season for the Scrappers.   [player_tooltip player_id='1173143' first='Reid' last='Slankard']-Linebacker-Fayetteville-6'3” 205-Pounds   The defending state champions always seem to have experienced players returning on both sides of the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='1173143' first='Reid' last='Slankard'] fits that description perfectly. Slankard is a linebacker that is always around the ball carrier. He does a great job of using his speed to get away from blockers and pursue the ball carrier. Slankard is effective defending against the run or the pass. The Fayetteville linebacker is a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season. He has the talent to put together a big season for the Purple Dogs.   [player_tooltip player_id='1181904' first='Jaymari' last='Porter']-Wide Receiver-Lakeside Lake Village-6'1” 170-Pounds   [player_tooltip player_id='1181904' first='Jaymari' last='Porter'] is a wide receiver that can haul in the tough reception with ease. He does a great job of high pointing the football. Porter is able to create separation from opposing defenders using his athletic ability and quickness. He does a great job of turning a short gain into an explosive one in the blink of an eye. Porter is a prospect that I expect to have a strong season next season. He is a player to watch out for over the next couple of months.   [player_tooltip player_id='1138328' first='Cairo' last='Terry']-Offensive Line-Bryant-6'2” 270-Pounds   The Bryant Hornets have a talented football every season and this upcoming season does not appear to be any different. [player_tooltip player_id='1138328' first='Cairo' last='Terry'] is a versatile offensive lineman that plays with a chip on his shoulder. Terry does a great job of clearing a rushing lane. He finishes one block and looks to get to the second level. From a pass blocking perspective, he uses his mix of power and speed to keep opposing pass rushers away from the quarterback. Terry is an offensive tackle to watch this upcoming season.   [player_tooltip player_id='1145883' first='Derrick' last='Palmer']-Wide Receiver-Little Rock Southwest-6'2” 170-Pounds   [player_tooltip player_id='1145883' first='Derrick' last='Palmer'] is a wide receiver that has excellent speed. He is a threat to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. Palmer uses his speed well to create separation from opposing defensive backs. He is a dangerous wide receiver to contend with when he gets into the open field. Palmer is a player that has the potential to have a big season in 2024. He is a prospect to keep an eye on throughout the 2024 season.
