Continue ReadingPrep Redzone Louisiana will release its new 2025 rankings this week, followed by 2026 updates and the first 2027 rankings.
Leading up to the complete, 250-player list on Tuesday, we will count down the top 50 in more detail.
And make sure to check back following the release for additional features and notes on the 2025 cohort, including looks at debuts, stock-risers and the loaded running back, defensive line and defensive back groups.
No. 30 Jayden Gloston Jayden Gloston 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB University Lab | 2025 State LA — 5-11, 175 DB — University Lab
The Cubs’ corner pairs a solid build with good length with track speed — a 10.93-second 100-meter — and a high level of intelligence for the game and his matchups. Gloston has been a notable role player for U-High since he was an underclassman and is now among the veteran faces of the program as he prepares for senior year. He recently added Louisiana (Lafayette) to a string of early offers that included Texas Tech, Arkansas State and Marshall.
No. 29 Brandon Henderson Brandon Henderson 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Woodlawn (Shreveport) | 2025 State LA — 6-0, 170 ATH — Woodlawn (Shreveport)
One of the most fluid athletes, the versatile multisport star for the Knights makes another climb forward in the latest update to the rankings. Henderson, an all-district selection in all three phases and on the basketball court, is fast and springy with great ball skills, and USF, Louisiana Tech and other colleges have started to take notice.
No. 28 Jacob Bradford Jacob Bradford 6'0" | 190 lbs | DB Catholic (Baton Rouge) | 2025 State LA — 6-1, 185 DB — Catholic (Baton Rouge)
Bradford’s offer list has been among Louisiana’s faster-expanding this offseason since a junior campaign in which he excelled as his Bears’ top corner, matching up and holding his own against even nationally high-level opposing receivers, on their back atop the Division-I Select throne. Vanderbilt, Arizona State, Texas Tech, Houston, Tulane, Louisiana Tech and ULM have been among the recent offers.
No. 27 Tyron Winslow Tyron Winslow 6'4" | 275 lbs | DL H.L. Bourgeois | 2025 State LA — 6-4, 275 DL — H.L. Bourgeois
Missouri, Houston, Louisiana (Lafayette), UTSA and Troy have been among the offers that have started arriving for Braves’ promising two-way lineman. Winslow has shown versatility inside and outside on the defensive line and at an increasingly trim and toned 275 pounds showed an explosive first step, agility and motor to his pass-rush that popped on his junior film.
No. 26 Jacob Washington Jacob Washington 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Archbishop Shaw | 2025 State LA — 6-3, 180 WR — Archbishop Shaw
The Eagles’ receiver is relatively raw, but with a special set of athletic traits from his length and catch radius, 4.4-second 40-yard speed and body control on leaping, stretching and spinning catches. His offer list has exploded this offseason with Miami, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Penn State, Duke, Arkansas, Missouri, Georgia Tech, Louisiana Tech and ULM among a swiftly growing list of offers.
No. 25 Witten Van Hoy Witten Van Hoy 6'7" | 305 lbs | OL Benton | 2025 State LA — 6-7, 305 OL — Benton
The big Benton offensive lineman is the highest debuting prospect in this round of rankings updates. Van Hoy has a huge frame, but moves impressively well for his size from his quick first step to his ability to navigate space, get upfield and engage defenders at the next level. Baylor, Colorado, Louisiana Tech and ULM have been among his first offers.
No. 24 D’Shaun Ford D’Shaun Ford 5'11" | 210 lbs | RB Opelousas | 2025 State LA — 5-11, 210 RB — Opelousas
The thickly built power back bulldozed his way to 1,836 yards and 19 touchdowns on 174 carries this past regular season — a 10.6-yard average that speaks to his big-play ability when given the opportunity — before ultimately marching his Tigers all the way to the first state championship in school history. Ford’s physical running through contact has been a calling card, but he’s continued to work on his elusiveness and receiving skillset as he prepares for the next level.
No. 23 Lennis Finister Jr. Lennis Finister Jr. 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Archbishop Rummel | 2025 State LA — 6-0, 170 DB — Archbishop Rummel
Finister has lived near the top of these rankings from early on and remains a top-25 prospect in the state and one of its top corners. The quick-footed, patient and instinctive athlete has always been smooth in his coverage and shown great timing and ball skills on anything thrown his way and appears to have gotten stronger in his upper body throughout his high school career.
No. 22 Brody Whatley Brody Whatley 6'5" | 250 lbs | DL Neville | 2025 State LA — 6-4, 255 DL — Neville
The big defensive end is an increasingly disruptive force on his Tigers’ front with his quick, explosive first step often right by blockers and strength to overpower them, including even splitting through double teams and continue his pursuit of passers and ball-carriers where he consistently wraps up tackles with his strong hands.
No. 21 Kyle Johnson Kyle Johnson 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Bunkie | 2025 State LA — 6-0, 170 ATH — Bunkie
The biggest riser in this segment of the rankings update countdown, Johnson was an early addition to and consistent face on Prep Redzone Louisiana’s lists for more than two years now. The Panthers’ speedy multisport star has continued to excel on the field, the court and the track at higher and higher levels throughout his high school career. Johnson is fast, fluid, smart and instinctive and has an increasingly long offer list to show for impressive talent.
