KJCCC Recruits – Future Jayhawk Stars

In this report we will continue to examine the 2024 recruits heading to the Kansas Jayhawk Community College (KJCCC) Conference. Below is a look at five future stars from the Wichita and surrounding area that will be taking the next step in their football journey with Hutchinson, Garden City and Coffeyville.   The "Five" are listed below:   Headed to the Coffeyville Red Ravens:   [player_tooltip player_id='1181057' first='Tavian' last='Gilliam'], 6'5, 185, DB/WR, Buhler, is ranked #131. He is a versatile athlete who can play any of the defensive back positions or as a wide receiver for the Red Ravens in 2024. Long and lean he has great hands and an excellent catch radius whether he is going up for contested passes or making the interception. On defense he can operate as a shut down corner or drop back and play either of the safety positions. He has good instincts, closes fast and tackles well in the open field. He will help Coffeyville immediately.     Headed to the Garden City Broncbusters:   [player_tooltip player_id='1183499' first='Jayden' last='Sutton'], 6'3, 270, OL, Winfield, is ranked #402. He is an aggressive brawler of a blocker who can play anywhere along the offensive line, but lined up last year mostly at left tackle for the Vikings. He has strong hands and quick feet for his size and leverages his strength well. He caves in the defender on down blocks and also effectively gets to the second level to take out linebackers. He has a big frame with a powerful lower body and should step in and help Garden City sooner rather than later.   [player_tooltip player_id='1186048' first='Easton' last='Sears'], 6'4, 245, OL, Wichita Southeast, is ranked #380. He is coming out of the Southeast program where he provided solid support along the offensive line. He has a good-size frame and can play either guard or tackle but unfortunately the lack of available film makes assessing his potential tenuous at this time.     Headed to the Hutchinson Blue Dragons:   [player_tooltip player_id='1186140' first='Mason' last='Jones'], 6'0, 235, LB, Hutchinson, is ranked #370. He is coming off a spectacular senior season when he was All-Conference, All-State and All-American as a linebacker or defensive end depending on the scheme. Coming off the edge he looks as if he is shot out of a cannon. He can beat blockers with the strength of his bull rush or by sheer speed. He has a great combination of strength and quickness and routinely blows up plays between the tackles when playing on the inside. He has great closing speed and delivers a blow tackling in space. This kid is going to be a stud.   [player_tooltip player_id='1183502' first='Tycen' last='Biering'], 6'4, 300, OL, Eisenhower, is ranked #321. Another mauler of a blocker who can play any of the offensive line positions but was used primarily as a center for Eisenhower. He is a large presence in the middle, with a strong base, good first step and leverages well. He effectively locks up defenders by getting under their pads and flipping them in the direction he wants them to go. He has good feet and moves well in space when blocking linebackers or pass blocking. He should be a solid addition to the Blue Dragons.
