So, I am going to break up my series of Top linemen into 3 sections. This section is on the top Defensive Linemen which are New York State Ranked through Prep Redzone.
Defensive End Michael Harris Michael Harris 6’3″ | 260 lbs | DL St. Francis | 2025 State NY enters his senior season with 52 career tackles (7 for loss) and 3 sacks. But stats aside, you can’t overlook Michael’s big body frame at 6’5 270 lbs. Harris has a unique mix of quickness and strength. He has the grit and determination to chase a play down that is going away from him. Michael Harris Michael Harris 6’3″ | 260 lbs | DL St. Francis | 2025 State NY has received several Junior Day Invites and his adaptability to play any position on the Defensive Line will make him a valuable recruit in 2024.
Mason Alnutt Mason Alnutt 6’3″ | 220 lbs | DL Canisius | 2025 State NY is a strong edge rusher with fantastic hand placement and has a quick first step off the ball. A two time All Catholic selection, Mason was also selected as a 1st team All Western New Yorker in 2023 making 48 tackles (11 for loss) and 4 sacks. Alnutt has the speed to win with a swim move and the power to bullrush. After two seasons at Canisius, Mason Alnutt Mason Alnutt 6’3″ | 220 lbs | DL Canisius | 2025 State NY has already received a Division I offer to Monmouth University in New Jersey. His senior season is sure to bring about more high profile offers.
Robbie Westmiller Robbie Westmiller 6’2″ | 260 lbs | DL Alden | 2025 State NY is one of the more underrated linemen in Section VI. A 1st team All-League choice and team captain, Westmiller has great body control and can manhandle his opposition. He is a 3 year varsity starter – accumulating 140 tackles (44 for loss) and 8.5 sacks. On film, he seems to be unblockable. He has a big body that allows him to clog the running lanes. A pure Defensive Tackle, Westmiller was a nightmare for Running Backs. Like most high school Linemen, Robbie Westmiller Robbie Westmiller 6’2″ | 260 lbs | DL Alden | 2025 State NY started on the Offensive and Defensive side of the ball. I don’t know if he is looking to pursue offense or defense at the college level, but he showed enough that he can excel at either.
Aziyon Wilson-Earll Aziyon Wilson-Earll 6’0″ | 225 lbs | DL Jamestown | 2025 State NY is a two-way starter at Right Tackle and Defensive Tackle for the Red Raiders. He plays with ruthless aggression and high emotion. On a team loaded with weapons, Aziyon gets overlooked, often demanding double teams – seldomly losing 1 on 1 battles. Wilson-Earll looks bigger on tape than his listed 240 lbs. suggest. He is a ferocious defender and tackles with tenacity.
Max Weinrieb Max Weinrieb 5’10” | 300 lbs | DL Williamsville South | 2025 State NY is a true 1 tech defensive lineman that can eat up blocks. He is a big bulldozer that plays with a lot of heart. His massive presence clogs the A gap well and forces Running Backs away from him. Weinrieb’s 300+ lb. stature will make him an intriguing prospect as a senior.
Highlights
There is a case that can be made that Lucas Stiglmeier Lucas Stiglmeier 6’1″ | 215 lbs | DL Lockport | 2025 State NY is the best OL/DL prospect in Western New York. Lucas plays fast and smart. His ability to read and react between the run and the pass in unparalleled. Stiglmeier has the option to continue his play on the Offensive Line, where his tremendous blocking prowess made him an All State and All WNY honoree or at Defensive End, where he scolded opposing offenses for 112 tackles and 4 sacks in just two seasons. His 230 lbs. maybe light for the collegiate level but the versatile athlete that he is, Lucas Stiglemeier could convert to Outside Linebacker as an edge rusher.
Ian Storey Ian Storey DL Fredonia | 2025 State NY is a two-way starter that made 2nd team All-League in 2023. He is an excellent drive blocker that can reach the second level of the defense. As a Defensive Tackle, Storey accrued 119 tackles and 2 sacks. He uses his hand like a club to shed blocks, has great gap control and is physical at the point of attack. Ian Storey Ian Storey DL Fredonia | 2025 State NY is also adaptable as he has played Defenive Tackle, Defensive End and even had some reps at Middle Linebacker.
