He showed quick instincts during coverage practices in blanketing a receiver out of the backfield. It also helps he has an 81-inch wingspan and showed his upper body strength during the bench press with 14 reps.

Kam Long QB, Carolina Forest

The rising junior had a strong day in the passing department. His time in the 40-yard dash and measurement in the broad jump gave an indication of his lower body strength and quick ability to move around the pocket.

River Thayne TE, Carolina Forest

It's easy to see why the 6-foot, 254-pound tight end plays an active role in the Panthers' offense. His stocky build belies an athlete who's quick enough to get coverage from defenders and makes difficult catches Thayne's upper body strength as shown with his 20 reps in the bench press and unsuspecting quickness makes him a difficult cover.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267206' first='Dontrell' last='Wilson'] DL, Camden

The 5-foot-11, 313-pound defensive lineman put up decent numbers in his first active year with the Bulldogs. He finished with 61 tackles, 11 for loss, and three sacks for the Class 3A runner-ups. On Sunday, Wilson was unrelenting in winning his share of one-on-one matchups. His 80-inch wingspan gave him an edge in pushing off offensive lineman.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267320' first='Jon' last='Kelly'] TE, Myrtle Beach

At 6-foot-2 and 197 pounds and having a 78-inch wingspan, the rising junior possesses a wide receives' build. He also can hold his own blocking off the line of scrimmage whether to create an opening for a running play or breaking free for an open reception. Both Kelly's pass-catching sklls and abilities off the football were on display.

[player_tooltip player_id='756223' first='Nathan' last='Carson'] OL Gray Collegiate

His father was a former All-State forward at Calhoun County who later played two seasons at Appalachian State.. The younger Carson with the same name shares similar physical characteristics at 6-foot-3, 245 pounds and having an 81-inch wingspan. The rising freshman showed glimpses of potential during an individual drill, including an impressive pancake of a defensive lineman with a weight advantage. Like his father, he should develop more muscle and technique as he progresses at Gray Collegiate and could even see time as a defensive lineman.

Bubba Alexander LB, Hammond

Another Class of 2027 who received attention for his workmanlike effort at Sunday's combine. His 4.31 time in the pro shuffle was one of the best time posted and earned praise from the coaches for his proficiency and near-perfect technique. As shown during his SCISA championship freshman season at Hammond, the 5-foo-9 performs bigger than his size.

Justin Reeves RB, Mullins

The 5-foot 6 rising junior saw more than at wide receiver for the Auctioneers than at running back. While timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.71 seconds, his 26.8 inch vertical leap and 4.39 seconds in the pro shuffle gives an impression that Reeves' game speed is even quicker. He also showed versatility in handling the football as he was used at times during the season to return kicks.

Jordan Jenkins WR, Conway

At 6-foot-3 and 177 pounds, the rising junior has the build and game-breaking skills to be a prime target in the Tigers' offense. His height, an 79-inch reach and ability to make clean catches each enables him to outstretch cornerbacks for passes. Another player whose 40-yard time is not an indication of how quickly he evades defenders and makes runs after catches.

[player_tooltip player_id='617662' first='Jamie' last='Williamson'] DL, West Florence

(Pictured on top) The 6-foot 1, 282-pound rising junior is looking for build upon his two previously productive seasons for the Knights. An aggressive defensive tackle, Williamson can either overpower or outmaneuver an opposing lineman. His 79-inch wingspan makes it difficult for a quarterback or running back to avoid his reach when in pursuit.
