This week, Prep Redzone Scout Drew Johnson will highlight instrumental recruits who have consistently produced this season. As noted frequently, Prep Redzone Florida aims to provide adequate coverage of all athletes for college coaches At All Levels and readers to evaluate.
Zander Smith Zander Smith 6'4" | 215 lbs | QB Lakeland | 2025 State FL | QB | 2025 | Lakeland | @zander_smith15
Smith has received recent offers from Bowling Green, Fordham, and Cornell since the offseason. He’s now a state champion who played his first season with the Lakeland Dreadnaughts as he threw for 1,801 yards with 23 touchdown passes. He’s a strong-armed kid who has some time to work on timing and footwork to lock in some real deal college interest. No doubt, he has the size and look at 6-4, 200-pounds that colleges can work with.
Trayvon Jean | RB | 2025 | Golden Gate | @JeanTrayvon0
One of the more physically gifted kids in the Naples area put on a show with his legs to help Golden Gate finish 9-3 on the season. The kid was a workhorse for the offense, recording over 1,600 rushing yards with 14 touchdowns to add. At 5-9, 180-pounds, Jean still has time to mold his frame for the college workload but don’t sleep on another big-time rushing season on the horizon.
Makih Johnson | WR | Class of 2025 | CAI | @Makihjohnson2
One of the top rising junior receivers has picked up steam during the offseason earning multiple big-time offers following a productive fall showcase and various camp showings. Had a decent junior season but Johnson has all the tools in the box to be a Power 5-Division 1 product with plenty of time to add to his frame.
EJ Archield Jr | QB | Class of 2025 | Robinson | @EJArchield
Archield continues to develop and impress. It’s been nice to see him spin it and show off why the buzz around his recruitment is legit. He dominates the 7v7 and camp-like sessions because of his impressive frame combined with good footwork mechanics, arm strength, and ball placement. Archield picked up a big-time offer from Ole Miss in the spring and will look to continue creating buzz around his recruitment heading into the off-season. Still, plenty of time to develop and add to his quarterback bag.
Christian Neptune Christian Neptune 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Cantonment Tate | 2025 State FL | DB | 2025 | Tate | @Christian_Nep
This kid is about putting in the work! He’s consistently grinding in the offseason to show he has the tools and upside to make an impact at the next level. Neptune led the Tate offense in receiving last season with over 800 yards with 7 touchdowns. He’s a decent-framed athlete who has a couple of big-time offers from Vanderbilt and Stanford.
Emarian Triplett | RB | 2025 | Pinellas Park | @EmarianTriplett
A premier running back prospect in the area put up over 1,300 rushing yards with 22 touchdowns last season. This kid did it all for his high school and deserves some college looks. He’s got some interest from Navy and NDSU but is looking to lock in legit college offers.
Gavin Jenkins Gavin Jenkins 6'2" | 170 lbs | DB Lake Butler Union CVointy | 2025 State FL | ATH | 2025 | Union County | @3wayyG
A pure athlete on the gridiron, Jenkins can make it happen on both sides of the field. He led his team in receiving yards last season with nearly 500 yards with 6 touchdowns to add. Look out for his name to rise as we head into the spring period.
