Doing these analyses allows me to spotlight a lot of players. There are a lot of young talented prospects and several sleeper prospects that could start getting looks for the next level. Prep Redzone Florida will always promote everybody in hopes of them getting the opportunity of playing college football at the next level.
Kanon Vetter- St. Petersburg Catholic c/o 25
6’2 198lbs
Vetter showed a lot of improvement in year 2 of being the starter for the Barons. Vetter was the top quarterback in the district throwing for 1511 yards, completed 50% of his passes with 13 touchdowns. He also rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown. Vetter is the top returning quarterback in the district next season.
Strengths:
- Shows the talent to make all the necessary throws
- Can put zip on the ball or throw with touch
- Upside
Chase Burrill- Northside Christian c/o 27
5’11 175lbs
Burrill was a first-year starter and showed that he will be a player to watch out for over the next several seasons! The freshman gunslinger led the Mustangs to a 6-5 record, district championship, and a berth into the State Playoffs. He finished second in the district in passing with 1179 yards, completing 50% of his passes with 9 touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown. Burrill will be one of the top returning quarterbacks in the district in 2024.
Strengths:
- Throws with accuracy on the run
- His ball placement regardless of distant stands out
- Smart decision maker and takes what the defense gives him
Keatin Emener- Indian Rocks Christian c/o 25
6’0 180lbs
Emener is talented up-and-coming prospect in the Tampa area. As a junior last season he led the Eagles to a 6-5 record and into the State Playoffs. Emener finished third in the district throwing for 913 yards with 11 touchdowns in 10 games. He also rushed for 101 yards and 4 touchdowns. I’ll be keeping an eye on Emener this spring.
Strengths:
- Poise in the pocket
- Athleticism to roll out from either side of the pocket and throw with accuracy
- Arm strength to push the ball downfield
