This week, Prep Redzone Scout Drew Johnson will highlight instrumental recruits who have consistently produced this season. As noted frequently, Prep Redzone Florida aims to provide adequate coverage of all athletes for college coaches At All Levels and readers to evaluate.
David Coleman | DB | 2027 | Seminole | @DavidLColemanJ2
One of the premier 2027 DBs in the state is starting to fill into his body where his technique can be displayed. He’s made the recent move over to Seminole (Sanford, FL) where he’ll add to a talented defensive roster. Coleman is beginning to rise and catch the attention of Power 4 schools, earning recent offers from UCF, Illinois, and Appalachian State. Look for the 6-0, 160-pound rising sophomore’s stock to continue to rise.
Landon Wolny Landon Wolny 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR First Baptist Academy | 2027 FL | TE | 2027 | FBA | @landonwolny_80
Wolny is a decent route runner for his size and has flashed sure-hand capabilities when contested. He can likely develop into a true Power 4 recruit with more work put in during the off-season. Really impressive freshman year with lots of upside for Wolny. College coaches should get in early and monitor his progression.
Mason Hall | QB | 2027 | Coral Glades | @masonhall_qb
Recently got my eyes on this kid’s film. He had a decent freshman season and has been putting in the work this off-season with QB training and camp appearances. Still growing into his frame at 6-0, 165 pounds but has a natural throwing release and pocket presence to develop into a solid Pro Style prospect.
Caden Osborn Caden Osborn 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB West Florida Tech | 2027 FL | QB | 2027 | West Florida | @Cadenosborn2027
Osborn is a strong-arm 2027 riser with decent size for his age. He’s another hard worker who’s put the work in to generate some interest during the off-season. Osborn should have the opportunity to show off his development this spring and be a young leader for his high school.
Chance Houston | QB | 2027 | Land o Lakes | @cc11houston
I’ve had the opportunity to evaluate Houston a few times now on the 7v7 circuit and this kid’s arm is the real deal. Houston has advanced vision and arm strength to zip the ball around the route tree. He can thread the needle or deliver on downfield throws. Still has plenty of time to work on his body but can rise to the top of Pro Style prospects.
Jordan Cason Jordan Cason 5'10" | 150 lbs | DB Bradford | 2027 FL | ATH | 2027 | Bradford | @jordan_cason5
Check the film! This kid has made noise on the 7v7 circuit and is putting in the work heading into the spring. He’s a rising freshman prospect with plenty of time to work on his overall game and generate some college interest. Another Bradford star that’ll be making regular season plays shortly.
Grayson Yancey | QB | 2027 | Ocala | @grayson_yancey
Decent size for the 2027 rising QB prospect at 6-1, 165 pounds with plenty of time to grow. When breaking down his game, he’s displayed solid footwork mechanics and accuracy throughout this off-season.
Michael Vernon | QB | 2027 | Jesuit | @MichaelVernon0
Vernon is a pure athlete who had a solid fall season and has taken that momentum into the 7v7 and off period. He’s played both sides of the ball where he’s been noted for his electric speed and ability to make it happen at the WR position. Still plenty of time to figure things out but Vernon could develop into an elite defensive back prospect with more work.
Sean Hickey | QB | 2027 | River Ridge | @SeanHickeyQB
Talk about being a true riser, Hickey has been added to my breakout list after a decent showing at the UA Orlando camp which impressed onlooking scouts. Have to get my eyes on Hickey to truly evaluate his game but he’s displayed a solid throwing release and accuracy to compete in tough contested throws.
Trent Kelly | QB | 2027 | South Lake | @Trekelly08lll
One of the sleeper 2027 risers who got some fall varsity in-game reps will help his overall development heading into the spring. He’s shown off his rocket arm strength and ability to get mobile with his feet, scoring four rushing touchdowns a season ago. Another under-the-radar potential breakout 2027 prospect who I need to get eyes on soon.
Trent Richburg Trent Richburg 6'4" | 195 lbs | ATH Forest | 2027 FL | TE | 2027 | Trinity Catholic | @D1trent17
You can’t teach 6-5, 187-pounds as just a rising freshman. This kid has the frame and determination to be a breakout tight-end prospect college coaches haven’t seen yet. Decent hands and route running already and can add a blocking component. This kid will be on the radar soon.
Gavin Davis | WR | 2027 | ZCA | @GavinKDavis11
Davis played with a talented ZCA WR squad but still finished top three in receiving yards as a freshman. This kid is an electric slot receiver with big-play potential. Kid your eyes on his overall frame developed because he could be a problem.
