A lot of them are the kid next door who doesn’t get the shine associated with some of the recruiting hotbeds. That doesn’t mean these small schools don’t contain a ton of good ball players just looking for the next opportunity! In this series, I will be highlighting some small town dudes with big dreams of playing at the next level!
De’Mari Spencer
De’Mari Spencer
De’Mari is a dual threat guy both offensively and defensively. Offensively when he gets any open field, he can put defenders in a blender and inevitably pull away from them. I really like him defensively, as he is an instinctual DB who finds the ball constantly. He loves to come up and dislodge the ball with a big hit, or try and get a hand on the ball. He is a free and natural runner that I could see developing into a really good DB if he were to get a shot at the next level.
Carter has transitioned nicely to the trenches. Offensively he is a punishing offensive lineman who can pull and deliver big hits. He displays a tremendous amount of strength while moving guys 10-15 yards downfield or more. He moves very well, gets to the 2nd level and opens the field wide for his ball carriers. It appears he is starting to really learn the position and improve his technique, and while he still has some things to work on, I really like where he is heading!

Rob Hock
Rob Hock
I came away really impressed after watching Rob’s film. Defensively he is a very aggressive DB who does a really nice job of diagnosing a play quickly, and has tremendous closing speed. He can come up in the run game to deliver big hits, or can play over top and create a very difficult passing game for the offense. Offensively he runs clean routes, and has solid hands. When he secures the catch, he has a good amount of speed to create some major YAC. Rob could end up being a very special player for someone at the next level, as he is a kid you can put in a number of situations and he will produce.
I think Lleyton may be one of the biggest stock risers in in his class currently. He has done a nice job of continuing to become a well rounded QB. In the pocket he is a sound decision maker, and displays above average arm strength. His footwork will need to continue to approve, but I think that will come as he gets more comfortable. He also has a nice ability on the ground, as he can escape the pocket, throw on the run or tuck it and go get yards with some good speed. If Hoard continues to work hard and develop his skill, I think he will end up being a very popular prospect.

Ryley White
Ryley White
I have been beating the drum for Ryley since early 2023. He stood out to me in a game, and after watching his film I was hooked. He’s an athletic and quick route runner who changes direction well and has improved on having late hands. When he catches the pass, he secures it quickly and gets up field and he runs well with good vision to get some extra yardage. He’s a constant deep threat that will stretch the field all season long this fall.
