Smith does a good job of staying in stride with the receiver, and making smart plays on the ball. He can read hands well and sees through the ball. Though he is a little undersized weight wise, I think if he stays in the weight room that will continue to improve. He has good technique and can even get up there to make the play on jump balls. I hope he sticks with it in the weight room and keeps working on the technical side of being a DB, because he could end up being a solid prospect.

I’ve really started to convince myself this is one of the guys people need to watch out for as he may blow people away. Everything I see from him off the field is that he’s an incredible kid and teammate, and on the field he is an unbelievable athlete. He’s working his tail off this offseason to continue to pack on weight, and if that happens he is going to be a problem for defenses. He’s quick and decisive when he cuts, and displays really sound hands. Watching his Hudl highlights made me super pumped to try and see him live.

If you want a big man that will absolutely eat up gaps and offensive linemen, here ya go. This dude has powerful legs to anchor down, and an incredible ability to stalemate anyone looking to force him out of the hole. He is agile enough to get off blocks and hustle to make a play too which isn’t too common for a man this size! I have been really impressed with his highlights and so have some MAC schools. I would not be shocked if he plays his way into a handful of P5 offers as well.
Jake was one of the guys in my Underrated Underclassmen Dream Team last season, and I really look forward to where he goes this season. He has continued to get bigger, faster and stronger over the last year, and his ceiling continues to climb. I really like his motor in pass rushes, and I also like his ability to be a run stopper when needed. He’s versatile and has a high football IQ that definitely makes him worth checking out!
I actually really like Trace as a receiver, though he can really do it all. All year he was outside and lined up at RB here and there. He is a very natural runner and has long strides. He runs good routes, but what I really like is his big physical frame and the ability to win jump balls, while also being really good at getting yards after catch and making guys miss in space. I think Trace could follow his teammate from last season Jhace Massey and end up at a GLIAC school. Given some more college level coaching may turn him from good to great quickly.
