<p>Perhaps for the first time ever, a New Mexico prospect has been offered by Alabama.</p>

<p>2025 La Cueva outside linebacker<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='611083' first='Mason' last='Posa']</strong> posted on social media late Saturday afternoon that he was offered by Alabama in a phone conversation with Football General Manager Courtney Morgan. </p>

<p>In the last month, the 6-foot-3, 210 pound Posa has been offered by Arizona, Illinois, Stanford, Texas A&M, UTEP and Louisiana-Monroe, joining several prominent schools that offered in the fall. He has also recently hosted Oregon head coach Dan Lanning and Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire for school visits. </p>

<p>"I've been talking with Alabama for a while," Posa told Prep Redzone New Mexico shortly after announcing the offer. "I was very excited. I couldn't believe I was offered by Alabama."</p>

<p>Dream come true? Of course.</p>

<p>"My Dad and I have constantly thought about this," Posa said. "I'm going to try to visit there this spring."</p>

<p>Posa said the long list of schools showing serious interest include Alabama, Oregon, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, USC, Arizona State, Baylor and Oklahoma State.</p>

<p>He plans to start taking official visits in the spring when the NCAA window opens April 1. Posa is nationally ranked by most of the major recruiting services, including 247.com and On3.com. In fact, 247.com ranks Posa as the No. 160 prospect overall in the nation for the 2025 class. </p>
