Nearly two weeks have passed since National Signing Day for non-Division I football programs. Numerous 2024 New Mexico prospects have signed their letters of intent are now beginning to prepare for their college football careers. However, not everybody has signed. There is still some outstanding players still available:

[player_tooltip player_id='274794' first='Jasiah' last='Baca'], Los Lunas: Our No. 1 OL prospect for the 2024 class is looking for a home after a stellar career with Los Lunas (First Team All-District and All-Metro in 2023; NMHSCA All-Star Game). He holds an offer from New Mexico Highlands.

[player_tooltip player_id='340299' first='David' last='Beasley'], Centennial: Beasley played in just five games for the Hawks this past season due to injuries. But he remains one of the top defensive backs in the 2024 class. Well coached at Centennial, too. Hawks players have been popular during this recruiting cycle, and Beasley should be the next to sign.

[player_tooltip player_id='590681' first='Nye' last='Estrada'], Artesia: Curiously, one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the state the past two seasons is unsigned along with Bulldogs linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='590673' first='Diego' last='Wesson']. Estrada threw for over 6,100 yards and 76 TD in two seasons as Artesia's starting QB. He also won two Class 5A state championships. Estrada was offered by New Mexico Highlands in December. He's a winner.

[player_tooltip player_id='425194' first='Manny' last='Fuentez'], Roswell: While other 2024 Coyote players have signed letters with the colleges of their choice, Fuentez remains unsigned. He had a remarkable two-year run as Roswell's starting QB, throwing for 2,185 yards and 38 TD as a senior in 2023. Also has a 3.9 GPA.

[player_tooltip player_id='275459' first='Wyatt' last='Gomez'], Lovington: Yes, our 2023 New Mexico Heisman Award winner is still on the board. However, he visited New Mexico Highlands this past weekend along with Wildcats WR [player_tooltip player_id='275593' first='Cesar' last='Gonzalez']. Signing Gomez would be a major coup for NMHU. Gomez also visited NMI in January. He threw for 3,676 yards and 51 TD to lead Lovington to the Class 4A championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='274791' first='Trel' last='Griego'], Farmington: One of the biggest and strongest quarterbacks in the state is still without a college home. Griego has been offered by Birmingham Prep. He threw for 3,591 yards and 39 TD as a senior. Numbers like that would usually have coaches showing up at the prospect's school.

[player_tooltip player_id='274790' first='Jackson' last='Hix'], La Cueva: Hix was an integral piece of La Cueva's high-powered offensive attack for two seasons, catching 67 passes for 1,060 yards and 14 TD as a junior in 2022. He was offered by Eastern New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands last spring. But we're told Hix doesn't plan to sign with anybody in the near future. We'll wait and see.

[player_tooltip player_id='340188' first='Ben' last='Linfoot'], Cleveland: Pound-for-pound, Linfoot is one of the strongest players in the state. Playing center for the Storm, he earned First-Team All-State and First-Team All-District honors. He played in the NMHSCA All-Star Game in December at Artesia. Was that his last football game? Hopefully, no. He would be a perfect addition for any of the D2 programs in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='275595' first='Demarcus' last='Thompson'], Lovington: Thompson was one of the top two-way players in the state last season. He has a PWO opportunity with New Mexico along with offers from Eastern New Mexico, New Mexico Highlands, Western New Mexico, Adams State, Bethel College and Wayland Baptist. We're told Thompson wants to first complete basketball season and take all his visits before deciding where he wants to go. He visited WNMU and NMMI in January.

[player_tooltip player_id='274991' first='Jason' last='Ussery'], Los Lunas: One of the top 2024 defensive backs in NM is unsigned. Ussery has been offered by New Mexico Highlands and Carleton College. He possesses great size at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. Ussery had 80 tackles, 5.0 TFL and 3 INT for the Tigers in 2023.
