The class of 2025 in the state of Texas has numerous prospects along the defensive line to watch out for this upcoming season. In this article, we are going to shine a spotlight on some defensive linemen on the rise. All are players that have the potential to put together a strong senior season during the 2024 football season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1148929' first='Derrion' last='Howard']-Defensive End-Tascosa-6'4” 205-Pounds

[player_tooltip player_id='1148929' first='Derrion' last='Howard'] is a prospect coming off of the edge that has excellent speed. He is able to use his quickness to get away from blockers and get into the offensive backfield. Howard forces the opposing quarterback to get rid of the football before he is ready. He is a player that swarms to the ball carrier and does not quit on the play. Howard is a defensive lineman that I expect to have a big season in 2024 and one I expect to see playing on Saturdays in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='281654' first='DJ' last='Sanders']-Defensive Tackle-Bellville-6'3” 290-Pounds

The Bellville defensive tackle is a player that can destroy the opposing offensive game plan. Sanders can drive opposing offensive linemen into the backfield and cause plenty of havoc in the backfield. He does a great job of getting off of blocks and hauling down the running back. He is another prospect that will not give up on a play until he is in on the tackle. Sanders can and will rush the quarterback from the tackle position and he is a prospect to watch out for over the next couple of months.

Smith Oroglo-Defensive End-Alief Hastings-6'4” 235-Pounds

Smith Oroglo is a defensive end that plays the run and the pass well. He does a great job of keeping opposing offensive linemen with his mix of power and speed. Oroglo gets away from blocks and will haul down the quarterback as well as the running back. He is a player that does an impressive job of reading the play. Oroglo is another defensive line prospect to watch out for this upcoming season. He has the potential to have a strong season for Alief Hastings.

[player_tooltip player_id='688537' first='Rodney' last='Jones']-Defensive End-Plano-6'2” 250-Pounds

[player_tooltip player_id='688537' first='Rodney' last='Jones'] is a versatile player along the defensive front for Plano. He is capable of playing the edge as well as the tackle positions with equal effectiveness. Jones plays both the run and the pass well. He has the talent to stop plays in the opposing offensive backfield. Jones is a defensive lineman that has a high motor and will attack the offensive line. He is a player to watch out for over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='1151781' first='Chace' last='Sims']-Defensive Tackle-Randle-6'3” 300-Pounds

The Randle defensive tackle has impressive quickness at the tackle position. He drives the opposing blockers into the opposing offensive backfield. Pursues the ball carrier and hauls down the running back well. Sims has the ability to rush the passer and completely disrupt the opposing offensive game plan. Sims is a powerful defensive lineman that can take over the game from the tackle position. Sims is a player to watch out for this season.
