However, it’s fun to see which smaller schools are trying to make a mark in the peach state. One of those schools happen to be the Liberty Flames. Here are 5 prospects who recently picked up offers from the Flames, plus why Liberty may be so attracted to them.
Peyton is an electric RB prospect with a dynamic explosiveness/speed profile. Peyton quickly opens up to his top speed in space, allowing him to outlast angles and build away from chasing defenders. He is more of a scat back, getting the ball in space as a receiver and leaking to the outside after handoffs. Around the line of scrimmage, he keeps his feet moving and climbs while searching for running lanes, which prevents defenders from making tackles from the backside. He is more of a bounce-it-outside runner than he is a between-the-tackles runner, but he is not afraid to lower his shoulder and welcome contact in space if needed. Peyton possesses elite speed and is a receiving threat out of the backfield. His 3rd down and big play potential makes him an obvious FBS eval.

Jason Grier Jr
Jason Grier Jr
Grier is an extremely athletic and versatile prospect. For his size at 6’2 230, he has fantastic movement skills and flies around the field. He plays on offense as a TE, but also plays on defense as an EDGE, OLB, and will even slide to DB. At TE, he flashes some violence and tenacity as a blocker. Once he locks in on an opponent, he will escort them to the bus. Defensively, his upside as an EDGE is noticeable. He can bend around blockers to make his way to the QB and is not afraid to bull rush blockers onto their heels. However, I believe his upside is off the ball. He can line up against receivers and is physical enough to disrupt their timing. He violently flies downhill, sheds blocks nicely, and has sideline to sideline speed. He is more of a ragdoll tackler than a sure tackler, but he doesn’t sacrifice any energy and isn’t afraid to take on contact. A few years of settling in at a specific spot and Grier could be a difference maker at the FBS level.
Arnett is a tall, wiry WR prospect with impressive playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. He will take some handoffs at RB, but should be vastly evaluated as a WR prospect. Arnett is a natural runner and uses his long strides to glide across the turf. While you may find prospects with more speed, explosiveness, and twitch, Arnett has the vision and wiggle to make defenders miss and stay ahead of the chains. Make no mistake, he is a good athlete. However, he is a prolific football player with the rare ability to garner 10+ touches a game from the WR spot. He doesn’t flash a whole lot of contested catches on tape, but he runs with good pace in his routes and can create separation at different levels of the field. Arnett is a Khalil Shakir-like WR prospect, possessing the skills and playstyle to lead a team in receptions at the FBS level.

Sekou Peters
Sekou Peters
Peters is an athletic, nimble DL prospect at 6’3 245 with plenty of room to add more play strength. He also takes plenty of reps on the OL, but I project him on defense thanks to his size and athleticism. Peters possesses solid initial quickness off the line which allows him to slip through slide protection and dart past pulling guards. He may play a little high at the point of attack, but plays with good hand placement and fights to hold his ground and shed blocks. He is flexible and agile, which he shows off when he has to work off-platform and pursue the football in the flats. Peters is an athletic DL prospect who can win with his quickness at the 3, 4 , or 5 tech spots. With improved play strength and pad level, he could grow into a productive block shedder.
Sean Ferguson
Sean Ferguson
Ferguson is an athletic CB with the potential to play on the outside and in the slot. He is a downhill striker, playing on a rope attached to the WR. He quickly transitions from a backpedal and flies downhill with violent attentions. He is not afraid to take on blockers, capable of beating them by being more physical and by dodging them. His playstyle may yield fly-by misses in the future, but he takes good angles to the ball and often meets the WR before they can turn up field. His shorter build and tackling prowess might lead to a future playing as a nickel, where he can be activated to help chase the ball and defend the run. However, he does flash the footwork required to match release points and plays with the temperament needed to mix things up physically. Ferguson plays with a ton of energy and I believe he can stick at CB, even without prototype length.
