Speed, quickness, strength, fantastic footwork, and superior form. Marcus Harrison Marcus Harrison 6’8″ | 335 lbs | OL St. Francis | 2024 State NY has it all. Harrison is ranked as the #1 Offensive Linemen and #3 overall athlete is all of New York State so it is no surprised he was named to the 1st team All State team at Left Tackle. The 2023 Western New York Trench Trophy winner is a dominating force. At 6’8 335 lbs, Marcus truly plays like a man amongst boys. Marcus Harrison Marcus Harrison 6’8″ | 335 lbs | OL St. Francis | 2024 State NY will be playing college football for the Georgia Bulldogs. If his talents transfer to the collegiate level as I think they will, we should be seeing him play on Sundays.
Highlights
After quiet sophomore and junior seasons where he accrued 824 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns, Terrence Pendergrass Terrence Pendergrass 6’0″ | 185 lbs | RB St. Francis | 2024 State NY blew up in 2023 gaining 1,443 all purpose yards and 21 scores. Terrance has excellent vision with a quick burst through the line of scrimmage. He has the elusiveness to get around defenders and the toughness to go through them. Pendergrass is a true workhorse Running Back with pass catching abilities. He will continue his athletic and academic career at Edinboro University.
Highlights
In just 2 years, Clark is already Canisius’ all time school receiving leader with 110 receptions for 1,541 yards and 12 touchdowns. That school record is sure to grow as he is just in his Junior year. A physically gifted athlete, Clark is a crisp route runner with explosive speed and tremendous hands. He has a great vertical leap to catch the ball at its highest point, explosiveness to go deep and displays his toughness by going over the middle. Jahyden translated his dominance to defense racking up 206 tackles, 3 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries in 2 years. With several collegiates already showing interest, Jahyden Clark Jahyden Clark 6’0″ | 165 lbs | ATH Canisius | 2025 State NY will have many options on where to play football at the next level in 2025.
In his first year on Varsity, Welka threw for 1,266 yards and 13 TDs and gave the Red Raiders their third straight A Division Championship in the Monsignor Martin league. Welka put his mobility on display running the ball 60 times for 221 yards and another 5 touchdowns, including 2 in the Division Championship game. Landon carries himself with great poise and is extremely tough. Landon Welka Landon Welka 5’11” | 155 lbs | ATH St. Francis | 2025 NY rarely gets sacked and seldomly turns the ball over. Welka will be a senior in 2024 and will look to bring St. Francis another title. He has all the tools needed to be successful at the next level.
A remarkable athlete, Elijah Kimble Elijah Kimble 5’10” | 195 lbs | RB Canisius | 2027 NY was voted to the Max Preps All America Team in his Freshman season. He took Western New York by storm in 2023, rushing for 1,821 yards and 20 touchdowns. He has tremendous instincts, great awareness and can jump cut better than just about anyone in the area. As a Freshman, Elijah Kimble Elijah Kimble 5’10” | 195 lbs | RB Canisius | 2027 NY has already received offers from prestigious programs like Oregon, West Virginia, among others. This amazing player still has three more years of High School football left so sky is the limit for this young man.
2023 was a breakout season for Jeremiah Neely Jeremiah Neely 6’3″ | 195 lbs | WR St. Francis | 2024 State NY who led the Red Raiders in receiving; catching 30 passes for 499 yards and 9 touchdowns. At 6’3, Neely has the prototypical size to be a #1 receiver. He has great body control with the ability to separate himself from defensive backs. His stature allows him to win jump balls. He has excellent footwork and soft hands. This is a talented player with a promising future. Jeremiah Neely Jeremiah Neely 6’3″ | 195 lbs | WR St. Francis | 2024 State NY has committed to Diviision II Edinboro University for the 2024 season.
A 3rd team all state Defensive Lineman, Patrick Sullivan Patrick Sullivan 6’1″ | 280 lbs | OL Canisius | 2024 State NY dominated both sides of the trenches as a Center and Defensive Tackle. Sullivan is tough and plays with a mean streak. He is quick off the ball and plays with intensity. Always blocking to the whistle, Patrick has a non stop motor. He has excellent footwork, great hand placement and understands the power of leverage. Still uncommitted, Patrick Sullivan Patrick Sullivan 6’1″ | 280 lbs | OL Canisius | 2024 State NY has generated interest from many colleges like St. Francis University and the University of Rochester. It is only a matter of time before he accepts an offer to play football at the next level.
A wrecking machine at Linebacker, Hunter Jantzi Hunter Jantzi 6’1″ | 215 lbs | LB Canisius | 2024 State NY has orchestrated a fierce Crusaders defense for the pass two seasons, posting 180 tackles (25 for loss) and 4 sacks. Hunter attacks the ball carrier with ruthless aggression and possesses fantastic closing speed. He is great at play recognition; his read and react timing is impeccable. After an excellent 2 years at Canisius, Hunter Jantzi Hunter Jantzi 6’1″ | 215 lbs | LB Canisius | 2024 State NY will continue his playing career at Division II Seton Hill University.

A superb all purpose back, James McNeil James McNeil 6’2″ | 200 lbs | RB Bishop Timon-St. Jude | 2024 State NY leaves Bishop Timon High School with 1,743 yards from scrimmage and 23 total touchdowns. With just 108 carries and 37 receptions, McNeil averaged 12 yards per touch. Big and physical, he possesses the speed to score every time he touches the ball, as displayed by his 6 to 1 touchdown ratio. James has great vision and extraordinary balance. He has great hands and proved to be an essential safety valve out of the backfield. James McNeil James McNeil 6’2″ | 200 lbs | RB Bishop Timon-St. Jude | 2024 State NY will stay in his hometown and attend the University at Buffalo.
