Continue ReadingWilson finished the season with 5 interceptions and 2 pick sixes for 60 total yards. Wilson was an all-around playmaker for Richar Montgomery this season, he scored on offense defense and special teams. Defensively he put up points with interceptions and a 53-yard fumble recovery return. Offensively he broke the plain receiving and rushing; he finished the season with 563 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns, and 37 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. Midseason in a 50-64 shootout against Churchill Wilson had 156 kick return yards and 1 KR touchdown. Due to his impressive performance this past season he earned a spot on the MPCS 4A All-Conference Team.
Crowder is developing into a ball hawking safety and a trusted receiver on the offensive side of the ball. He ended the season with 5 interceptions and a handful of pass breakups. Crowder does a good job of high pointing the ball giving him the best shot to make a play through traffic. He had an impressive 1 hand interception early in the season that caught my eye, he’s a prospect i will keep my eye on, he may be the go to guy for the Falcons next season.
Kruk is a potential two-way weapon for John Carroll, he has the ability to take it the distance offensively and can create turnovers defensively. He finished the season with 5 interceptions, 6pass breakups and 1 fumble recovery. On offense he only had 16 receptions for 251 yards and1 touchdown, that touchdown he scored was a long run after the catch on a back shoulder fade. He shows glimpses of big play ability making contested catches down field. On defense his zone coverage is his strong suit, he stays discipline in his coverage even during scramble drill situations.
Depompa put on a defensive show this season and lit up the stat column. Like our other highlighted players on this list he had 5 interceptions, but Trenton put up numbers in a variety of other stat categories. Along with those 5 INT’s he had 93 interception return yards and 2 touchdowns. Outside the pass defense he recorded 81 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. Depompa is on the verge to solidify himself as a leading safety prospect in the state.
Lee is the most explosive out of these 5 DB’s. On offense he’s a big play waiting to happen, he puts up points rushing and receiving and scored a total of 23 touchdowns last season. Defensively he recorded 4 interceptions, taking two of them back for pick sixes. His second interception had a wow factor, he caught the one-handed INT, and made 3 defenders missed before walking into the endzone. Lee has a ton of versatility and athleticism; I’m looking forward to seeing what he can produce this upcoming season on both sides of the ball.
