[player_tooltip player_id='1080813' first='Ahmad' last='Gordon'] – Perry

One of the best running backs you'll find across Middle Georgia, Gordon is coming off an incredibly productive junior season for a Perry team who won their very first state title in program history this past season. A big reason why they won the 4A classification was because of Gordon, who ran through defenses with ease all season long. Don't let his smaller frame fool you. At 5-foot-8 180-pounds, Gordon runs hard for his size and doesn't mind barreling through defenders for extra yards. He's a quit-footed back who can make defenders miss, but he can run with a physical presence as well. As consistent as any back you'll find in the area and across 4A, gordon rushed for an eye-opening 1,811 yards and 34 touchdowns last year. He carried the ball a lot with 313 touches, but in the end, he was able to lead them all the way to a championship. He was the leading 2025 back in 4A last season and will be the leading returning rusher heading into 2024 next fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1572515' first='Emadd' last='Howard'] – Walnut Grove

We've written about Howard before as a promising young back, but after a very strong junior season this past fall, Howard is no longer "under the radar'. At 5-foot-11 180-pounds, Howard shows good vision and elusiveness, which led to him rushing for 1,075 yards and 12 touchdowns last fall. He's got decent size, and he showed quick feet and patience behind the line of scrimmage. When he sees a hole, he hits it hard and knows how to run behind his pads when trying to run through a linebacker or any other defender. He's not a burner, but he has enough speed to pick up big yards once he gets through the first level. He's a natural runner with a great overall feel for the position. He moves the chains, breaks tackles, and showed he can take over games if he needs too. He rushed for at least 100 yards five times last year including his final two games of the season. He saved his best game for last, rushing for 170 yards and three scores in his final game of the 2023 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555593' first='Kadiphius' last='Iverson'] – RB Westside

Another top returning 4A running back out of Middle Georgia this past season, the Westside standout from Macon turned in a very productive junior season this past fall, showing the ability to elude defenders and break tackles. He loves with power and can bounce off defenders for extra yards if not tackles properly. A physical runner with plenty of muscle at 5-foot-11 and over 200-pounds, Iverson shows some elusiveness for his size down the field who consistently took off for big runs last year. As a junior last fall, Iverson rushed for 1,073 yards and 14 touchdowns. He rushed for over 100 yards in six games with his best game of the year coming against Rutland where he took off for 175 yards and one touchdown. Look for him to get better and better in the off-season, setting him up for a big senior season in 2024.
