This article analyzes the best playoff performers around the DMV area from the 2023 season!

2024 6'0 205 QB - Roman Jensen - Maret - Maryland

Roman Jensen, Maret's phenom quarterback, performed spectacularly well for his team down the title stretch, and his elite play secured the Maret Frogs a DCSAA A Division Championship with a victory over Coolidge. In fact, the Frogs ended the year as one of the top teams in the District of Columbia, and the reason for that was their star QB- Roman Jensen. Jensen exceeded expectations in every single category on the stats sheet, making him one of the most dominant overall prospects in the state of Maryland. He threw for 9,217 passing yards and a whopping 98 passing touchdowns during his high school career, with 1,700 rushing yards and 30 TDs as well. Given his next level play during the Fall season, it's no surprise that Jensen recently committed to the University of Maryland, making him one of the next QBs in line to take over for Taulia Tagovailoa. Everybody must remember the name Roman Jensen, because he's going to accomplish great things with the Terps in College Park, MD!

Highlights: https://t.co/mkrRWV8bcH

2024 5'11 190 RB - Da'Juan Riggs - St. John's - Oregon

Da'Juan Riggs earned the incredibly esteemed honor of being named a Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Maryland. He was named 1st Team All-WCAC at the RB position, as well as the D.C. Offensive Player of the Year. The St. John's College Cadets program themselves even selected him as their 2023 season MVP. In my opinion, there are few players in the nation as exciting and dynamic as Da'Juan Riggs, and he will most certainly be a game changing player out of the backfield for the Oregon Ducks!

Highlights: https://x.com/Zack_Poff_MP/status/1737240038646448582?s=20

2024 6'5 175 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='249086' first='Frankie' last='Weaver'] - Good Counsel - Monmouth

You'd be hard pressed to find a player in the state of Maryland who experienced a more overwhelming and heartfelt high school football career than [player_tooltip player_id='249086' first='Frankie' last='Weaver'] of Good Counsel. After suffering an immense tragedy, Weaver rallied behind the support of his friends and family to win the 2023 WCAC Championship with his fellow Falcons. The future Monmouth quarterback demonstrated next level leadership and resolve throughout the year, and there's no doubt in my mind that he's prepared for the college game. His Good Counsel Team finished the season ranked #1 in Maryland and #20 in the nation, therefore my prediction is that Weaver leads Monmouth to a lot of success when his time comes as the starter. All of Monmouth nation should be incredibly excited to have signed such an elite QB recruit like [player_tooltip player_id='249086' first='Frankie' last='Weaver'] of Good Counsel!

Highlights: https://t.co/cM178Gqyph

2024 6'2 265 DL - [player_tooltip player_id='249993' first='Emmett' last='Laws'] - DeMatha - Virginia Tech

The soon to be VT Hokie, [player_tooltip player_id='249993' first='Emmett' last='Laws'], led the charge on defense for his DeMatha Stags team this Fall, and his massive impact on the team's run to the finals must not be ignored. In fact, Laws is such an impactful recruit that he made an appearance on ESPN this week to discuss his collegiate future in Blacksburg, VA. The argument could be made that no single player made more of an impact on their team's overall performance this Fall than [player_tooltip player_id='249993' first='Emmett' last='Laws'] of DeMatha. It's no coincidence that Laws enters collegiate play as a 4 star recruit, and my prediction is that he'll make his presence known quickly on the Hokies' defensive line. [player_tooltip player_id='249993' first='Emmett' last='Laws'] is the best of the best at the DL position!

Highlights: https://t.co/MONCi7l7bn

2024 6'2 185 QB - Keshawn Mister - Concordia Prep - Old Dominion

The MIAA B Conference Champion and Player of the Year, Keshawn Mister, quarterbacked one of the best overall seasons that we've seen in recent memory. He threw for 1,500 yards and 25 TDs in 2023, and he also recently announced his commitment to play at the D1 level with the ODU Monarchs. Mister also earned the highly esteemed All-Metro honor this year, and his elite play secured an incredibly successful season for his Concordia Prep program. It's extremely exciting that Keshawn Mister's collegiate career will be played locally, and I am confident in saying that it will be a spectacularly successful career at that!

Highlights: https://t.co/tRxVKZUabg
