K. Patrick Hall
K. Patrick Hall
Hall was an extremely impressive performer, earning himself MVP of the group as the youngest prospect among the DBs (2027). He showed promising length, technique, and physical tools forcing several breakups in the 1v1 period. He mirrored releases with quick feet, used his length and punch effectively to disrupt timing, and broke on the ball with obvious burst. He’s an instinctive athlete that can anticipate break-points and get his body in position to make plays on balls in the air. Expect Hall- who picked up an offer from Louisville as an eighth grader- to be a future P-5 prospect coming through the Mater Dei DB-pipeline.
Max Bollard
Max Bollard
Bollard made a strong case for MVP of the DB group with the combination of skillset, instincts, and technique he put on display. He’s a versatile DB that showed ability to play man over the slot or perimeter in 1v1s, and played some two-deep safety in his junior season. He’s a well-built athlete with ideal frame (5’10”/170) and mobility for his nickel/SS role- would not be surprised to see him near the top of the DB group when the testing numbers come out. Bollard- who recorded 56 tackles and 3 INTs as a junior- should be a standout defender for one of the top programs in SoCal next season.
Williams was another standout junior among the talented 2025 DBs, showing raw athleticism in the testing portion and focused technique in 1v1s. He’s patient at the LOS, reacts quickly to drive on routes, and possesses the speed and fluidity to turn-and-run with WRs downfield. He’s a wiry, narrow-framed athlete (5’9″/160) with loose hips and quick acceleration. Williams primarily played out on the perimeter as a junior, but could be a high-upside nickel defender at the next level with his skillset and experience in man coverage.
Highlights
Elijah Blu Flores II
Elijah Blu Flores II
Flores was a SoCal prospect to watch coming into the showcase and proved why during 1v1s. He’s a physical DB with a strong build at 5’10”/185 and quick, twitchy movement. He stays low and compact through the route and shows explosive burst on the ball working downhill. He looks most comfortable and at his best in the short-intermediate area but flashed some top-end speed opening it up on deeper routes. Flores was a solid contributor for the D2-AA champs last season that figures to see an expanded role next season and should continue to put his name on the radar this offseason.
Bishop showed significant improvement in his coverage skill and technique as a returning showcase attendee this weekend. He’s a big, physical S at 6’2”/185 with natural length and explosive traits as an athlete. He was a pest in coverage disrupting routes/timing and making his physical presence felt, particularly around the second level in off-coverage. He showed closing speed and efficient angle-of-attack snapping his eyes and driving on a deep-out to create the PBU in what was one of his best reps of the day. With the physical upside he possesses, Bishop could end up being a major sleeper among SoCal’s 2025 DBs- continuing to refine his technique and putting together strong senior film/production will be important factors for him.
