An early standout specialist in the 2026 class is Woodrow Wilson’s Tyler Radford Tyler Radford 5’8″ | 130 lbs | K Woodrow Wilson | 2026 State WV who debuts in the rankings as the #2 kicker in the class. Radford had a very good season for the Flying Eagles earning First Team All-Coalfields Conference and Class AAA Honorable Mention All-State by the WVSWA. The 5’8 130 sophomore showed off his accuracy this past season making 95% of all kicks including 33/34 on PATS and 4/5 on field goals. Although highlights were limited from this season, Radford showed a big leg with good ball height on his PATs and field goals. I’d like to see some kickoff film but he did have 5 of his onside kicks recovered. Radford has a soccer background where he’s also a quality player which has aided his early progress as a football kicker. He’s one of three 2026 specialists currently in our 2026 rankings and an early standout that colleges should be following the next two years.
Film was very limited on Chapmanville TE Benji Adkins Benji Adkins 6’5″ | 215 lbs | TE Chapmanville | 2026 State WV so we’re taking a bit of a flyer on him right now. Adkins is a 6’5 215 two-sport athlete for the Tigers also being a quality player on the hardwood. He has the prototypical length you need for the TE position and judging by his limited film and basketball background he also has the athleticism. Adkins caught 9 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown as a sophomore and racked up 17 tackles and two sacks on defense as a defensive lineman. As more film becomes available, he has the potential to move up in our rankings as one of the top TEs in the 2026 class.
Another 2026 TE who stood out during his sophomore season was Capital’s Jakori Clark Jakori Clark 6’0″ | 195 lbs | TE Capital | 2026 State WV . We went back and forth between ranking him as a TE or LB but Clark had enough quality TE film to debut as a TE in the 2026 rankings for now. While he doesn’t have the length yet that you typically look for in the position at 6’0 210, Clark still has time to get longer or could be considered an H-Back prospect. His athleticism really jumped out when watching his highlights and Clark has the speed to run away from defenders at times. I liked the way they used him on TE slip screens and let him use his athleticism to get yards after catch. Clark also has good ball skills as a receiving TE but would like to see more blocking film. He likely will eventually be moved to LB in the rankings if he doesn’t get any taller but Clark has the early athleticism to make him a versatile athlete at multiple positions.
Jefferson ATH Jackson Rockwell Jackson Rockwell 6’0″ | 160 lbs | ATH Jefferson | 2026 State WV will likely make a jump in the rankings after the 2024 season is completed and should have a breakout junior year for the Cougars. Rockwell was a Second Team All-EPAC WR performer as a sophomore, but he can also play quarterback and safety. Rockwell had a productive sophomore season on a playoff quarterfinal Jefferson squad amongst some talented skill players for the Cougars. The 6’0 160 athlete showed a lot of versatility as a football player this season providing value to his team in a variety of ways. The first thing that I appreciated seeing from him was his willingness to be a blocker at receiver. Rockwell broke open some big plays for teammates blocking out wide and showed he was an unselfish player who’s willing to help his team win in any way he can. That physicality also translated to the defensive side of the ball from his safety position where he was a quality downhill tackler. Rockwell is a well-rounded athlete who may eventually move to WR in the rankings, but his versatility was too good to limit him to just one position.
Highlights
Man athlete Josh Spriggs Josh Spriggs 6’1″ | 190 lbs | DB Man | 2026 State WV could’ve easily been ranked as a running back but his potential as a defensive back is high. Although DB film was limited, Spriggs has great size for that position at 6’1 190 and showed good athleticism from his RB film. I got to see him in person at their playoff game against Cameron and he stood out from a physical standpoint and is built well for a sophomore. He was one of many ball carriers in the Hillbillies’ offense but if he develops and posts more DB film he’s easily a scholarship-level college prospect in my opinion. The size and speed are there already which gives him a good base to build on in the future. More DB film will likely result in a ranking increase but Spriggs debuts as the #9 defensive back in the 2026 class and a Top 100 player.
The third and final specialist in our 2026 rankings at this point is Martinsburg’s Cody Paige Cody Paige 5’8″ | 140 lbs | K Martinsburg | 2026 State WV . The state champion kicker was a First Team All-EPAC performer as a sophomore for the Bulldogs in 2023 and an early specialist standout in the 2026 class. Paige has a strong leg which I got to see first-hand in their state championship win over Princeton where he consistently got the ball to the endzone on kickoffs. He also gets good ball height on PATs but can continue working on his consistency on his swings. Although I can vouch for his kickoffs it would be good to see more of them in his highlights along with hopefully more field goal opportunities. Paige currently ranks as a Top 3 specialist in the 2026 class and debuts inside our Top 100.
